Best rooms at AKL Savannah view??

We will be staying at AKL May 21-28 - bunk deluxe room. My question is which trail/area should we request?

Bunk Bed are not guarenteed. With Deluxe San view you are on th ethe 5th floor I think . someone should be able to confirm. Many have stated the view from the 2 or 3 floor is better, no trees in th eway.

Zebra trail, Arusha Sav view is the ultimate!!

"For the best wildlife viewing coupled with easy access to the main lodge, book a 3rd or 4th floor interior facing room in the 3rd building from the end of either trail (Kudo or Zebra)... 2nd floor rooms really can't take in the panoramic vista, and 5th floor rooms are a little too high for intimate viewing of the animals."

I do think deluxe rooms are on the 5th floor.

we just returned, and stayed in room 3307, with bunk beds (but not deluxe), and had an AMAZING view! it is the arusha savanah, and we saw giraffs, zebras, wildebeast and elands every day! One morning, the zebra were so close to our balcony, we could hear them eating!

we loved our room and our view!

What an amazing resort....I could not say enough about the entire experience!

Personally, I think any room with a window has a good view at AKL -- it is my favorite place to be!

We will also be arriving 5/21 at AKL and we have a Savannah view booked with bunk beds also, but not deluxe. I'm glad you asked this question, because I was wondering the same thing.

We were all the way down the hallway on second floor on Zebra trail overlooking the arusha sav. AWESOME view. We were right by a little watering hole. I love that place!!

Personally, I think any room with a window has a good view at AKL -- it is my favorite place to be!

I am with Shells9 on this one: they really are all good. We've looked over all three savannahs at various times and they really are all good. While I usually swear by the Unofficial Guide (UG) recommendations, I think they are off on this one. My wife thinks that the 2nd floor has the best views of the animals.

We haven't tried the 5th floor yet. On our upcoming trip, we have a Deluxe bunkbed room with daybed (guaranteed, since we are 5 in the room), so perhaps we'll be on 5, tho a colleague who just returned from AKL, tells me that his family had a deluxe room on the 3rd floor.

I've stayed on the third and fifth floor, and the views are equally great.
