Hi: based upon the LINES room evaluator for a refurbished, quieter, proximate room to ground transportation, I have been aiming for Building 6, ground floor. Any thoughts from POP experts out there?

All rooms will be refurbished, so no worries on that. Unless you're bordering one of the pools, you should be good on noise (though as always at Disney, your mileage may vary - it all depends on how well-behaved your neighbors turn out to be). Ground floor rooms tend to be considered the noisiest by the masses as you have people directly above you as well as potentially others going to/from their room by your door at all hours.

I've stayed at Pop twice, once in the 50s section (building 1), and once in the 90s section (building 8). I didn't find either particularly noisy. We were ground floor in the 90s section, second floor in the 50s. Walking to the buses from the 90s section was pretty quick, since we cut across the parking lot.

Pop is honestly small enough that you can't really go wrong. Requesting Building 6 might be a good bet to be as close as possible, but don't be disappointed if you end up elsewhere.
