Best room location at Wilderness Lodge?

I just booked a "woods view" room at WL the week before Easter. I've never stayed there before so I don't know what room location to request.

I heard it might be best to request the Artist Point wing (closer to the snack bar and boat dock). Are there any advantages to being on the other side? Are there any other room features that might be worthwhile requesting?

Any suggestions would be appreciated!!

disneymom1,

First :bounce: Your going to the WL and you are going to love it.

If you go to the thread Like the Phoenix, out of the ashes arises THE NEWEST WL FAQ! (Part 3) the information you need will be located on the first two to three pages...just click on the link below.

Or if your lucky AspiringCindy will check the database and get back to you real soon. You are correct about the North Wing over Artist Point some rooms have Views of the Castle and you can see Wishes fireworks at night.

Off to the Lodge in April- you are going to have an excellent time!!

Check out the first two pages of the 'Wilderness Lodge' thread- lots of good info about the Lodge and rooms.

If you are traveling with kids- you might want to request a room with bunk beds'. They have one queen and then a set of bunks. My DD loved having the bunks. One other advantage is this combo gives you a bit more floor space between the beds so a little more moving room.

Where you request is really a personal preference. Some like a view- and some of the woods view rooms on the 5th floor have a view of the Castle and Monorail. Others like the quiet side that overlooks the Villas.

When we were there in October, I didn't make a request, just thought I would see what I got. I ended up with a fifth floor room right off the lobby over the check in desk. The view from the balcony was marginal but I never had any time to 'hang out' on the balcony as we were always in the parks. I really enjoyed opening my door to the amazing lobby every morning. I didn't find it noisy at all. We were also just around the corner from one of the elevators which I like since I was traveling with a 6 year old.

Hope this gets you started. Again, check out the main WL thread.

Have a great time!!

I would definitely request the North wing(probably 5th floor)in the lower room numbers! Most of these views have a view of the castle!

Aspiring Cindy, In one of your previous posts, you mentioned rooms 4145 and 4146 courtyard located in the South Wing have great views of fireworks, castle and electric water parade as well as having queen/bunks. This sounds great for us, but was just wondering for comparison purposes, if you think the view on fifth floor, North Wing, lower numbers is better. It sounds like we'll love any room at this resort, but I'm making room picking a major project. If my DH finds out I'm still asking room questions, there may be one less person on our trip. We appreciate your help.

If you are specifically asking about courtyard view rooms, then the answer is yes! Many guests do prefer South wing Inner courtyard view over both outside courtyard and North wing courtyard! From the South wing inner, not only can you see EWP, but from some of the balconies, you can see the fireworks! The view of the waterfalls is also a plus!

I don't want to contradict anyone's post but Room 4145 (Inner Courtyard) is in the South Wing and yes you can see some of the Wishes fireworks over the top of the North Wing of the Lodge (NOT GREAT VIEW OF FIREWORKS) more like a pleasant surprise. You definitely can't see the Castle from either of these rooms because of the North Wing blocking it from room 4145. Room 4146 (Courtyard Villas View) is on the wrong side of the lodge facing The Villas so no fireworks, no castle, and no EWP either. Room 4145 would be able to see most of the EWP...
Hope this helps...
