Staying at the Poly for the first time ever....and i am just soooo excited about staying there.

We need a Balcony ...or a ground floor with a patio I guess....MY DH smokes...(yuk) and I dont....so i dont want a smoking building...and he ...just like at home...has to go outside...

I read somewhere that NOT all of the buildings have balconies..

If you have stayed at the Poly and had a great room with a balcony...Please tell me which building you were in?

Thanks sooo much

Just curious, does anyhone know if a non-smoking building allows smoking on their balconies?

I am pretty sure that the policy is for INDOORS only. Once you are outside...You are not "IN" the building.

We arent in our room much...but being an EX-smoker i can sympathize with my hubby...NOT enough to let him INSIDE of course......:p

Most buildings have balconies on the 3rd floor only and nothing on the second floor. Only Tokelau, Rapa Nui and Tahiti have balconies on the 2nd floor. That being said, you may want to check with the Polynesian with regards to smoking on balconies at a non smoking building.

A good option for you may be Tuvalu. It recently has been changed to non smoking on the bottom 2 floors and smoking optional on the 3rd level.

Good luck - there really is no bad longhouse at the Polynesian.

My understanding, is that you are not supposed to smoke on the balconies in a non-smoking room. I am a smoker, and would not feel comfortable doing this, as smoke would probably be blowing into someone's room that was non-smoking. You should definitely check with the Polynesian regarding this policy.

As a non smoker I would not appreciate your smoke on my non smoking room balconey. Sorry but the truth is that there are some people who really are allergic to smoke and that includes smoke out side on balconeies. When you request a non smoking building that doesn't mean just the room it means the balconey you sit on as well.

Sorry as well, but I don't want to be smelling drifting smoke when I'm on my non-smoking balcony at the Polynesian!

Seems like one of the best located buildings at the POly (Samoa) is a smoking building. Perhaps you should request it?

Best wishes....

Me too, as a non-smoker, I do not appreciate anyone smoking on another balcony and the smoke coming into "my space".... I can't breathe when some one is smoking near me... I start coughing and wheezing.

I'm booking a non smoking building and HOPE that no one is inclined to smoke in the halls, on the balcony's, in the elevator== oh yeah, I have "smelt that!" I guess smokers can't smell the smoke, therefore, no one else can either???

Sorry, to be so forceful and forward, I hope I don't offend anyone who does smoke, but you have to take into consideration people who DON'T smoke and hope you understand when I can't breathe near you.
