Best ROMANTIC Dinner Spot?!??!?!?

Thanks for all the great ideas...although I havent made up my mind - everyone sure has given me a lot to think about.

Of all the choices mentioned, I think Artist Point is the most romantic, with just enough manly decor not to be completely fou-fou. In fact, I think VWL is one of the most romantic spots at WDW. Even with kids around, Artist Point is usually fairly quiet. It has an isolated feel that really builds the ambience. The staff is professional and courteous, and they really know the wine list. They can really help you get the most out of the pairing. We've never had a bad meal there.

I also like California Grill. Ditto most everything I said about Artist Point, except for the noise. While it's never happened to us, I could see how that could ruin a romantic meal, especially if the parents are yelling. The staff therer is just as good as at Artist Point. For romance, you just can't beat going out on the deck to see Wishes.

We didn't like LeCellier. We may give it another chance because it just could have been a bad night. The only thing good was our server, who was a nice girl excited about returning home to Canada. The decor is very nice, and it does also feel isolated, but the tables are too crowded, and the food is unimpressive for what you pay.

Yachtsmen is a nice suggestion. I never thought of it as romantic what with overlooking Stormalong Bay and all. The food is excellent, and they too have a teriffic staff.

Whatever you choose, I hope you and your husband have a wonderful time!

My wife and I have visited Cali Grill every time that we have been to Disney for the last three years. Sometimes twice per visit. The best time for a romantic dinner at Cali Grill is later at night and near the windows looking over the park. The Castle is washed with multiple changing colors and then the fireworks are great out on the rooftop walkway.

The meals are always awesome and the menu is always changing. If you like Sushi, this is one of the best places to have it. Yoshi their Sushi Chef is award winning. If you get the oppertunity to eat their twice, request a seat at the sushi chef's table (if you like sushi of course). You can watch them work and they are very cool and talk with you about their cooking experience.

The other places that we always visit are: Citricos (everything), Jiko (Try the Taste of Africa), The Yachtsman Steakhouse, Artist Point, and Narcoossee.

Ditto on the sushi. I didn't even think of that. It is great!

I have to say the most romantic meal I have had at WDW was at San Angel Inn in Mexico at Epcot. Each time we ate there, we had seats overlooking the water below and the volcano in the distance. The restaurant was dark, like the sun was setting. There were candles on every table and the food and DRINKS were FABULOUS. That being said, I haven't been to any of the places the other posters mentioned...but I loved our romantic meals at San Angel...before kids, of course!!!

Another vote for Citrico's for a great romantic dinner.

Last valentine's Day I asked everyone for some place romantic. I was suggested Le bistro de Paris. I did not find it the least bit romantic. the tables were so close together you could hear what every one was saying. And it was very bright inthere. Like cafeteria bright. The service was good, but the food, Lets just say don't go with a big appetite. After leaving we went straight to America for a funnel cake. That was the highlight of our night. Although we did get a good laugh out of how much we paid for food the would not have filled up a kitten.
As for V&A I looked at the menu and I just don't see anything that I would actually eat. My husband and I aren't poor by any means, but why so peaple with money have a taste for the grosest of foods. Just my thought for the day. My opinion of romantic is getting to laugh and dance together. And remembering when you first met. Disney itself is romantic!

We are going to try Artist Point in March (our 30th anniversary is June, but we are going to celebrate early...any excuse for a good meal, right?).

We cannot afford V&A, and Cali Grill's menu didn't appeal to DH. We are also visiting some old favorites: Le Cellier, Boma, Ohana - to name a few. Trying San Angel and Marrakesh for the first time.

Artist Point is often overlooked but one of our favorites.

I would choose California Grill because of the view of the castle and the fireworks-the experience is totally unique to WDW.

Artist Point is nice as is Jiko. Citrico's is also good. However, they all suffer to some degree from the fact that they are in Disneyworld. People insist on bringing tired and unhappy children and they dress in theme park casual. It helps to dine late but we've found Jiko and Citrico's to be so crowded and noisy at times we couldn't really enjoy it. Artist Point is more reliably romantic, but only if you dine late -- past 8:30 p.m. To us there is nothing romantic about California Grill -- way too full of people with tired kids vying for a view of the fireworks.

By contrast, you can always count on V&A to not have children (unless they are older and very well behaved) and can count on the patrons to be appropriately attired.

And, for pure romance, nothing compares to V&A. The food, the service and the ambience are all marvelous. The staff is completely accommodating and not at all stuffy. If you don't dine gourmet regularly, they will help you with choices, they will pair the wines for you. All in all, a truly romantic and memorable evening.

My DH and I ate at Fulton's Crab House on our anniversary trip, too, wanted to try something new for us. The food was really good, service was very good, but not what I call romantic. The tables were very close together again, kind of loud when we were there.

We loved Narcoossee's... Romantic, secluded, peaceful. Plus, it's close to the water, and from our seats, we could look out over the lake. LOVED IT!
