Best Rides to Head for after HEA Fireworks

I'm curious what everyone's thoughts on this are. It's one of those things you can't really research just be following wait times on the app because they don't actually show the short period of time where lines are non-existent or the huge surge of crowds after the fireworks.

We are planning to catch the express bus to AK but don't want to risk missing the last bus of the night. MK currently closes at 10 so we'd have to catch either the 9:30 or 10:00 express bus.

Assuming you are strategically places in the hub for an easy getaway, what is your plan for after fireworks rides with no waits?

I don't think there is such a thing as a place you can see the castle well for this show and escape fast enough for a quick ride... what you can do is book a same day fastpass paying attention to the end time and not the start time and score one that overlaps fireworks but plenty of time before it expires to get on your ride..

Now if you don't mind cutting the fireworks start time close and a chance for bad view, splash generally drops to 5 minute wait.. btmrr is generally right behind it but still holds a little bit of a wait (maybe 10-15). Note that the wait times will not reflect this but many times they do. Space does get lower but not run on lower during the fireworks (and I find it easy to come in from adventureland or liberty square for a last second spot.. Especially if it's timed for 20-30 minutes prior to fireworks when they force everyone to stand up and there is room for double the people in the hub suddenly.

the lines that jump up really fast just after it ends are haunted followed by 7dmt, splash, btmrr and space. basically people run to the closest and if that doesnt' work run faster to the next closest..

Really? I feel like just outside the rim of the planters in the hub is still close enough for a good view of the castle, but also far enough out that you can get to the closest spokes pretty quickly. It would at least be ahead of MOST of the fireworks crowd. Space would be my preference but I figured that one didn't drop much every DURING the fireworks and that that's where most people would head for, so less likely to get in before the crowds built back up. What about Peter Pan? I know I got in that queue once right before fireworks and it was like 15 minutes even though the line said 70. Since it's for younger kids, would it be one that could make for a quick ride right after? Splash or 7DMT would be my other preferences. Maybe Pirates, HM, or JC if they were really short waits and the mountains were not.

Bryan,
Have you found that you've been able to get a half way decent "last minute" viewing spot for the new night shows at the Castle? Our first park day is Friday, June 30th...just booked our FP+ this morning (30 day window). We won't even get to MK until about 5pm, because I have to work until 4pm. We're stopping at guest services to upgrade our tickets to APs. So by time we did that, we were afraid we wouldn't have a ton of time left for rides before we had to camp out in the hub. We figured we had to be in the hub no later than 8pm. Is that not accurate? Could we get there at 8:30pm and still get a decent view? Where are the best places to get a last minutes spot (i.e. where is the herd not flocking to right away)? If we could get there a bit later, that would be awesome. I hate camping out just to wait for something...that's why we don't rope drop, wait in 45+ minute standby lines, etc... So I'll camp out if I must, but would prefer not to.

If you don't mind standing and don't need a railing or something else..then you can easily find a spot 20-30 min prior to showtime. We saw it this past weekend and were right up near the castle. We got there about 30 min prior.

Good to know, thanks! We don't need a railing or place to sit. Just want to be sure we can find a decent viewing spot.

This was my spot from the weekend. Got there around 25 min before showtime.
