I only want to "splurge" on really good restaurants 2-3 times on upcoming trip. Which are the best for firsttimers?

If you can "splurge" I would suggest Artist Point at the Wilderness Lodge, Le Cellier in Epcot, and Yachtsman Steakhouse at the Yacht Club.

I'll second Artist Point and Yachtsman Steakhouse. I'd also add Flying Fish, Jiko and Narcoossee's to the list, in descending order.

California Grill, hands down the best food in Disney. Time your reservations for an hour before the Magic Kingdom fireworks and you will have a great show with your meal.

California Grill, Jiko, and the Flying Fish.
We dine at around 6:00 P.M. at the California Grill. Later in the evening, the California Grill can become quite hectic.

My preference, in order, are be Flying Fish, JIKO, Ca Grill.

Narcosee's! If you time it right you can see the MK fireworks AND the electrical water parade.

My favorite is Jiko's, followed by Citricos and Flying Fish. This trip we will try Artist Pointe and the Yachtsman steakhouse as they have been highly reccomended - Shula's too. We also enjoyed California Grill and Narcoose's - but not as much as the first ones mentioned. Last trip we were a little disappointed by the Brown Derby, but might give it a second chance. Also Victoria and Alberts is a must do at least once. Enjoy!

Tell me more about your trip. Where are you staying, how many nights? Are you getting the DP? If not why not? Splurging 2-3 times at the places listed might cover the cost of the DP for your trip and as first timers that might be an even nicer experience.

I had been to WDW before, but only day trips and never on site. In 2007 I took my first multi day, on site trip with the DP. It would be hard to do it any other way now. Going back this year the same way.

Depending on the length of your stay you can still use DP credits to splurge on 1 or 2 of the places listed. We went to Narcoossee's and loved it. This year it's just me and a 6yo for 4 nights and we'll do 3 character meals.

If you plan to pay "cash" for your meals that's fine, just know there are other options that can be fun too.

It is not one of the Major Spluges...but we all adore Coral Reef. Very laid back and relaxed...yet still in the park and we got to see Mickey Scuba dive.

I would have to say from our experiences California Grill and Le Cellier. Jiko is one we plan on trying on our next trip.
