I have a 3 year old son. I need ALL suggestions for dining. I would love to make this trip memorable. He likes all of the characters--including princesses! We are staying at VWL. I would like fun restaurants and character meals. TIA! :earsboy: :earsgirl:

IMHO breakfastosaurus is the best character meal for boys.

We also love Crystal palace for B or L.

Ohana's dinner is a lot of fun for the kids. coconut races, hula hoop etc.

Rainforest Cafe is a lot of fun too as long as they aren't scared of the noises and animatronics.

For dinner anyway...we have the myw dining plan so we decided that since we can use character meals as our "sit-down" options, we are doing all of our dinners as character meals. :cheer2:

Monday ~ Princesses in Norway (starting on a high note!)
Tuesday ~ Liberty Tree Tavern
Wednesday ~ Crystal Palace (Pooh & Friends)
Thursday ~ Chef Mickey's (leaving w/a bang)

We are still thinking over doing LTT or Ohana's...not sure if Ohana's is a character meal though :sad2:

We have three girls (2 -7yrs and 1 -3yrs) and two boys (1 -9yrs and 1 - 5 yrs), so we think that this may cover the age ranges for characters. We are arriving on Monday (11:30am) and Leaving late (now 7:55pm) on Friday. So we will have to begin thinking of arranging an early dinner for Friday as well...maybe the 50's Diner in MK. During our stay, we will also try to have lunch at Biergarten in Germany as they have music and dancing (ethnic style) which would be fun, but a break for the adults from all the characters!

On the dining plan, we will use the "counter service" meals for either breakfast or lunch. :flower:

Hope this helps you!

Since you will be at WL, I suggest Whispering Canyon for a non character meal. Chef Mickey's, Crystal Palace, and Donald's character breakfast at AK are my boys' favorites!

If I were you, I'd choose one of the options where the food is brought to YOU (e.g. Liberty Tree Tavern.) With buffets, there is so much up and down...the parents don't get a breather at all!

We really enjoy the Liberty Tree and Chef Mickeys with our son, he is 8 now. The breakfast at AK is also a good choice for boys or Crystal Palace for little boys that are still into Pooh characters.

Biergarten in Epcot is very entertaining for little ones. It is a somewhat loud place - which is a ++ with little kids. I know for dinner they have a German band that plays down on the stage and the kids are encouraged to get up and go down there and dance. My kids are always entranced by the show for some reason. Folks seem to "whoop it up" and have a good time here which makes it a good place for the little ones. This was the best dining experience we had - including character meals - on our last trip. Character meals are great though. I would add that all the regular WDW restaurants are very child friendly so don't hesitate to go somewhere just for the parents - like Boma's, etc. That is a great place to eat and afterwards you could walk around and look at the animals - hotel is beautiful too!

OHANA'S! OHANA'S! OHANA'S!
Any meal!! Any time....especially during Wishes on a non-MK day! They have a very good character breakfast even on your way to MK!

Beach club -Cape May Cafe breakfast. All the characters are in swimming gear. Good to go if on your way to Epcot or MGM. Both are a boat ride away.

Chef Mickey's for dinner. We have made it a tradition to end our vacations there. You get to see Mickey, Minnie, Chip & Dale, Goofy and Donald Duck is in the lobby. I have 7 year old twins and have been going there since they were 3 1/2. CRT is another good choice if you can get it. My other choice is CP to see Pooh and his friends.

We went to Garden Grill in Epcot for a character meal lunch. It is served family style so you don't need to get up and down. The characters came around several times and were lots of fun. Chef Mickey's is fun but it's buffet so you will be up and down.

DS3 loved Chef Mickey's for breakfast. Crystal Palace for dinner was his favorite though- but he LOVES Tigger- they bounced together BOTH times we ate there this year!!! There are so many-- we've eaten at a lot of different character meals and Crystal Palace is probably our all time favorite- next to CRT for our daughter! We also really liked Garden Grille when we ate there- but it was a few years ago. We were a little disappointed in LTT, but most everyone here seems to love it too. Donald's Breakfasaurus at AK was OK- we ate there once several years ago but haven't returned- good characters for boys though. Good luck!!!!

We took my dd (3) to LTTand she loved it. She loved all the characters we had great interaction with them. She didn` t each much because she was to excited to see what character was going to come to the table next. :Pinkbounc

California Grill - He will love the fireworks
Chef Mickeys - Characters and a great atmosphere
CRT - Either breakfast or dinner. It's always great eating in the castle
Coral Reef - I think the reasons are obvious

GOOD LUCK!!!

Last year my DS was 3 during our trip and he loved Donald's Breakfast at AK and Crystal Palace with the Pooh family.
