Best Restaurant for Big Group...?

Although we won't be doing a Grand Gathering, we will have a group of 20+ people getting together for the Princess Half Marathon in March. Last year (with a much smaller group) we made late breakfast reservations at Kona, and it was perfect! Lots of food, casual atmosphere, and easy to get to from Epcot. We were hoping to do Kona again, but as our group grows, I think this is becoming more and more of an impossible plan. I know Kona isn't huge, and I don't want to take up half of the restaurant. I am also concerned that we may not all be there at the same time. It should be within 30 minutes of each other, but being that we won't all finish together, we may have some stragglers.

So, my Disney expert friends, what are your suggestions? We're open to anything, but we would like it to be easy to get to from the race finish at Epcot and able to accomodate a large group easily without taking up half the restaurant.

Thanks so much!:goodvibes

We have had large groups (not grand gatherings) at Chef Mickey's and at Cape May.

You can easily get to Chef Mickey's by monorail from the front of Epcot and you can walk to Cape May (at the Beach Club) from the International Gateway at the back of Epcot.

how about captain's grille at beach club? good food, minimal atmosphere but a perfect place to congregate and hang out... it's never been crowded at b'fast time in my experiences (i.e. we were the *only* ones in the restaurant on more than one occasion... esp for later b'fast times)... and easy to get to from epcot!

another suggestion is kouzzina on the b'walk...

We have a group of almost 30 meeting at Boma for the Wine & Dine half marathon. I would definitely do a buffet. Not only is the price set and easy to separate (unless people order alcohol) but with a big group people will eat at different paces and a buffet is good for that. There is also no waiting for the kitchen to get 20+ orders not only done but done right.

It is darn easy to get there from the finish, just jump on the bus labeled Animal Kingdom Lodge and you are set :thumbsup2.

Tusker House in the Animal Kingdom has a WONDERFUL breakfast buffet and they have some side rooms that could hold large parties. I would give it a try there :) Plus they have characters :)

Great suggestions, thanks all! I am glad to hear others have done such a large group in the past. I will bring these suggestions back to the group and see what everyone says! I knew I'd get some good ideas on here. :)
