Hey Everyone,
My wife and I are taking our children to Disneyland for the first time in October. It will be my son's 8th birthday and I was wondering if anyone has experience with the restaurants in Disneyland/Area for a child's birthday. I had Goofy's Kitchen at the top of my list ;-)

Thanx for your info

How exciting first Disney trip for your children! :) I have read many posts on this web site regarding the various character meals, and Goofy's Kitchen always receives rave reviews. I have not dined there as of yet. My most favorite restaurant is the Blue Bayou, but I would not suggest it for an 8 year olds birthday party though. For I believe Goofy's would be a far better choice, in this case. It would make for a really very nice meal, or dessert occasion, or both, otherwise, on a different day.
Don't forget to ask for first visit buttons for your children. And yours as well, in the event this will also be your first trip to Disneyland.

We've done Goofy's Kitchen a couple of times for birthdays & had a blast!!!

I let them know when we got our ressie & then when we checked in, I reminded them of my child's birthday. You can pre-order a cake or the birthday buckets (which is a small personal cake with little toys, stickers & pin)....or you can let them bring you a cupcake (that they supply). You also can get goody bags with different little toys in it as well. They also have balloons they can put at the table.

Your waiter/ess will bring out the dessert with candles, as well as a character or two to sing Happy Birthday. My son had Jasmine & Aladdin singing to him last trip!!

Your son's at a great age to participate in Goofy's activities, he'll find a ton of food to pick from & the character interaction has always been great for us.

I hope you enjoy yourselves & happy birthday to your son!!

This is great info I wished I had known this. I did Minnie and Friends for my sons 4th birthday and they put it in the reservation it was his birthday (I called twice and they told me it was in there) and asked me to get him a birthday button and that they would make a fuss over him. Other than a "happy birthday" from the cm who checked us in, he didnt get any special treatment, which was kind of disappointing. Well, I guess Captain Hook did point at my kids birthday button, but something like a cupcake and singing wouldve been awesome. I wished I had gotten the bucket so he'd at least gotten something. I guess I needed to go to the more expensive character meal for that.

Thank you for all the info. I was sure Goofy's Kitchen would be a good choice but i didn't know about the Cakes and other goodies.

Thanx
