Best restaurant for 20th b-day?

Hi, it's me, Alexandra, again! So I was planning to do my 20th birthday dinner at Bongo's Cuban Cafe in Downtown Disney on the first night of our trip, June 16th (my actual birthday). However, from reading these posts it sounds like Bongo's is not really a signature restaurant, and maybe not the most special place for my birthday. I absolutely love salsa music and I think I'd really enjoy Bongo's, but that might be more suitable for lunch on our last day than my birthday dinner. We will not be entering the parks that day, so does anyone have any suggestions for the best birthday dinner at any of the resorts and in Downtown Disney? I am open to elegant adult restaurants (except Victoria & Albert's) as well as more family-friendly character dining. Oh, and I already called the California Grill, but they're booked.

Thanks so much for the help! DIS is the best, I'm quickly growing addicted to the board and all your amazing advice and insight onto all things Disney! :cheer2:

Jiko would be a great choice. It is a beautiful restaurant with wonderful food and excellent service. Be sure to arrive early so you have time to wander around the AKL and see the animals. Be sure to check out the gift shop, too!

Another choice would be Flying Fish. I could say all the same things about it as Jiko. The chocolate souffle is the best dessert at WDW.

For something a little more casual, I suggest Spoodles. Their four cheese flat bread is just great. The dessert sampler is so good! After dining there or the Flying Fish, you and your companions can walk on the Boardwalk and have fun.

have you looked into the Brown Derby? You might like that ;)

Both of my sons (20 and 24 yoa) love the Yachtsman. It's a great place for a special meal. It's a little more dressy than other restaurants (business casual) but the service is impecable. If you love steak you can't go wrong. After dinner you can take the bus to PI or just walk around the Boardwalk. Now for your 21st. birthday, you can go to JellyRolls. Can't think of a better place to celebrate that one.

For my 25th birthday dinner, I went through several choices and decided on Citrico's. However, it's not open on Mondays. But maybe it will be for your day. If not, we ended up eating at the castle, and it was YUMMY. I'm so glad that's where I ended up eating. It was the best meal I've had at WDW and made CRT my favorite restaurant.
