We're getting married in Disney in Jan.:cloud9: My family likes to drink, and my mom, step-dad, and real dad (I don't know what else to call him LOL) are all going to be there along with other guests. Needless to say it's an awkward situation. What are your recommendations for a dinner where we can drink and not be too intimate. Where would you eat? There are no constraints as to where because there isn't actually a wedding rehearsal!!

Here are my suggestions:

Le Cellier
Rose & Crown
California Grill
Yachstman Steakhouse

Hi,
So are you doing your wedding officially through Disney? What are this giving you for choices? I would go with Jiko's if you are confined to Disney owned places. If you are not and money is not too much of a concern then Shula's steakhouse would be great assuming you are a family of meat eaters.

We did O'hana's because they could accomodate our group relatively easily. We had about 20 I think. It was good because it was kind of interactive. They set up one long table for us, so, we could easily separate those we wanted to separate so to speak.

In our area, the rehearsal dinner is always a more casual, laid back place where you can have a good time with your friends. Because of that, I wouldn't do a signature spot (Jiko, CA Grill, Artists Point, Yachtsman, etc).

'Ohana would be a lot of fun with a group. It's served family style so you don't have to worry about individual orders. They have a bar that you can order great Poly inspired drinks. There is some entertainment and a loud, lively atmosphere. If things get awkward around the table, it's not noticed because people are watching the kids doing the hula contest and such. They can also easily accomodate a large table. If you hit it just right, your party can view Wishes from the restaurant. If you eat a little earlier, your party can go to the Poly beach and watch it.

OUR bridal party would have loved an evening at Raglan Road. In the evenings, they have an Irish band and Irish dancers perform up on the bar - it's very adult centered late in the evening and very drinking centered =) Great food, fun fun fun atmosphere, fantastic drinks. You can get there for dinner at 730 or 8, people who want to retire early can, and your friends can stay for the party after dinner.

Ditto. I think RR would be a blast. Great drinks and great food. Lots of fun! :thumbsup2

I agree that the signature restaurants might be a bit "too much". They pride themselves on the higher level of service and the attention might be what you would call "intimate".

I would suggest a buffet so people can get what food they want and when they want it. No complaints about "but they don't have ANYTHING I LIKE" (followed by a heavy sign for emphasis - yes, I have experience in this area). No one is looking at any other person's meal and saying "but they got a meal that was $5 higher than mine!" - yes more experience in that area too.

I suggest Boma for the variety of food and Victoria Lounge is right there. Plus, it's not in a park so no one has to get an admission ticket for the day.

And if people get upset or whatever, shove them outside to look at the animals!
