So I was just thinking what would be the best resort for singles??. Now I do not mean to meet for dateing neccerly, but for meeting up with others to enjoy the days at WDW. I am tentvely planning on staying at POP,good idea bad?

I'd probably go with a Moderate or Deluxe hotel as they have nice little watering holes (aka bars) in them that a lot of people visit after a day in the parks. Port Orleans Riverside has Yee Haa Bob who plays there almost every night and that brings a huge crowd, French Quarter also has a great musician whose name escapes me now. Personally as a solo traveller I prefer POFQ or AKL, but that's just me!

Nice Idea:cool1:, as I think about it POR does sound nice. Also i like the idea of relaving at the pool at the end of the day

I've never done this or stayed here but I always thought the Boardwalk might be a good spot. And I would try to reserve a room maybe a floor or 2 above the boardwalk itself facing the lagoon. I could see that trip being a blast. Again I could be totally wrong and it could be the worst spot for single/solos.

I'm thinking Coronado Springs. Since it's a convention center I think they're might be less kids around, more of an adult feel. Actually going solo there in december since hubby can't make it this year. I'll let you know if it's a good spot or not.

I stay at POR, and last year I did an 8 day, all resorts, no parks solo trip and it was great.

I was able to take advantage of taking the DTD bus back from the resort, and then the water taxi back to POR.

Also, there are a lot of nice restaurants at DTD; Paradiso 37 is my new favorite, but I also love sitting at the bar in Rainforest Cafe and watch a football game in the afternoon.

If I could afford to go deluxe, I would do WL. They have a wonderful lobby area for people watching, great pool area, and the bar is very nice and has a lot of nice snacks. I go out of my way to get there every year. I have met a lot of people there, a lot of my own age.

I've been to WDW several times but always with friends. My first solo trip to WDW will be in January 2012 and I have reservations at BLT because I wanted as close to my favorite park as possible.

If you like Wilderness Lodge you will love Animal Kingdom Lodge. . .the lobby is over the top beautiful. A great bar there and just a really awesome place.

BLT is a nice place but lots of families. Since you are staying DVC my friend I expect invites to TOTW Lounge. .. great appetizers and an awesome place to watch Wishes. . .

My choice as a single would be Boardwalk. Its a great hotel/DVC and you can walk to two parks. Its got entertainment there and a great view of the lagoon. I think if I wasn't staying in a great room at AKL/AKV I would choose Boardwalk. . .
