Best resort to stay with a 10 month old?

I am debating whether to take a quick trip over Memorial Day. Our baby will be 10 months old. Have never gone with a baby. Earliest we took our first DD was almost 3 years old. She is now 8 and LOVES Star Wars so we were thinking of checking out the Star Wars weekend.

I can get a 1 bdrm at Boardwalk Villas for $288/night which I think is a fantastic deal and it gives us a separate room to put her in for naps and her earlier then everyone else's bedtime. The plan is for DH and I to take turns taking the baby back early for naps and bedtime. Well most of the time, we all go back in the early afternoon for swim/naps/relax.

But I am wondering if getting a basic room (no suite/villa) on the Monorail might be a little easier overall. I also could get a studio at AK (Savannah view) and think that would be fun for the parent in the room with the napping baby.

Give me your opinions.

We stayed at the Contemporary in a MK view room for a week in January and loved it. I can't imagine anyone being disappointed, though we did get a free upgrade to club level. We watched the fireworks from our balcony almost every night. It was so close to MK and being on the monorail was great. The rooms were so nice and so were the staff and amenities. We're definately staying there again next January:woohoo:

We stayed at the Contemporary in May with a 6 week old. It was great to be on the monorail and since DD is 4, Magic Kingdom was/is her favorite.

I think single room accommodations are great for a tiny infant but for an older infant/toddler it's a nightmare. Our 1st stay onsite ds, now almost 10, was 18 mos. They provided a pack n play which was fine but getting him to sleep was difficult.
Dh wanted to stay up to watch tv so the baby would hold both arms up crying (you know, the 'pick me up' gesture) He couldn't sleep well with us and couldn't sleep well in the pack n play. Our older ds, then 4, was in the other bed and even if we got side rails, I was afraid the baby could too easily crawl out of bed and get hurt while we were sleeping.

I was tempted to put the pack n play in the bathroom just to have a door to close but was afraid if he should be able to climb out, he could land on the tub or sink and get hurt.

This was at ASSpts and there was no privacy curtain. We were too clueless to investigate our options fully before booking. We got a postcard for $49/nt and jumped on it.

I'd vote for the separate sleeping arrangement. It's nice to have some alone time too. :thumbsup2

We recently got back from our 10 day trip to WDW and did a split stay. We decided on the WL and the Poly. The Poly was SO much nicer for us. We loved having access to the monorail and the rooms are quite a bit larger. My daughter (1) had more than enough room to play and we didn't feel like her Pack n Play took up all the free space we had. :)

We are planning on going back next year with our daughter and our new baby, plus our son. We will be heading back to the Poly. I can't imagine with two little ones not taking advantage of the monorail. It made everything so much nicer!

Good luck to you! :goodvibes
