Best resort to stay at food allergy related

Just ask to speak to a chef in either location and they will let you know what they can make for you. They were very accomodating and made sure there were things I could eat.

They also asked how long I would be staying so they could be prepared.

The POFQ food court has a special allergy mickey waffle maker and they make dairy free/egg free/gluten free waffles. All allergy food is cooked separate in the back. I loved the waffles but some people don't like them. I was just excited they were shaped like Mickey like everyone elses.

The only one to potentially avoid mght be Coronado Springs. The restaurants there are not owned and operated by Disney, so they may not be as helpful.

I had good luck at the Mara at AKL. The chef made me special chicken and veggies and also breakfast.

Roaring Forks at WL is also very good.

We've stayed at Pop and POFQ and are already booked to stay at each of them again. Both were amazing. We stayed at SSR and it was ok, but not as many options as the others. Pop had much wider variety of options that POFQ but POFQ chefs still bent over backwards for us, even special making things ahead of time for us because they don't normally carry much that DD12 can eat (long list of intollerances).

We'll never stay at CSR because of no Disney owned food establishments.

The Epcot area resorts have pretty much told me that they can't do much for CS for our particular list of allergens (just gluten free or nut free or dairy would be fine, but not complex lists). We could order TS to go, but that becomes quite costly. Basically we'd need to do those CS meals at Sunshine Seasons every day. Unless we rent DVC points to get a full kitchen (1br unit) so we can take care of our own food, we won't be staying at an Epcot area resort.

We might consider AKL as Mara has a great reputation. I haven't read much about MK area resorts though I'd definitely consider Poly since they have Kona and Ohana right there. Captain Cooks looks like it's menu has a bit more variety and I figure they should be able to do some safe foods for us between their kitchen and maybe getting stuff from the other restaurants. The TS options around the monorail are pretty good and I figure the CS locations should be able to grab a few options from them in addition to what they'd be able to do themselves with advanced notice.

I agree with POR. The food court their was really helpful. The restaurants were great, but we did have to remind our server on more than one occasion, which wasn't a problem.

Have FUN!

We recently stayed at Bay Lake Towers which uses the CR's CS restaurant. There was nothing wrong with the service and I would not hesitate to stay there again, but it wasn't the over the top service I hear about at some of the other resorts, particularly POP. They had some safe options on the menu and were very professional about taking his order and handling his food, but there was nothing purchased or prepared ahead of time especially for him and no great effort to custom make him something. For example, they carried the allergy chicken strips and were always willing to make fries for him, but I once asked if a cheeseless pizza was doable. They said no because all the pizzas came in pre-topped. No offer to find a way to make him one. I do wonder if I asked for more if they would get it, say getting a cupcake from Chef Mickey's, but I didn't know as much at the time as I do now. We had a kitchen so it wasn't a huge deal.
