Best resort to eat gluten free?

I was recently diagnosed with Celiac disease, so I cannot have gluten/wheat. I know that Disney is very accommodating to people with food allergies. I'm wondering what would be the best resort to stay at with gluten free options to eat? I usually stay at the All Stars but I'd definitely be open to any level of resort. Looking to stay in September or October. Thanks! :)

I would love to answer your question, but I've had pretty amazing GF options at every resort we've stayed at and also at every park here and on the west coast!

Every restaurant we've tried had GF options for each meal and each was delicious!

The "best" we've had so far was at the Polynesian, the GF curry meatballs and rice at Capt Cook's was great, and the GF dinner at O'hana was insane! The GF waffles at O'hana/Kona Cafe (they get the GF waffles for Kona from th O'hana kitchen) were some of the best I've ever had.

We are staying at AKL this spring, and I've heard they have some really good GF choices as well. Really looking forward to the GF bread service at Sanaa!

I have never had a problem getting GF food anywhere on Disney property. I have stayed at Pop Century, All star Movies and CBR several times. Our next trip we are staying at POR and All Star Movies. I wouldn't base where you are staying on your GF options I always find plenty of choices. Right now I would just be concerned with CBR because of the closing of the food court for construction, but since you didn't mention staying there I wouldn't worry about that! Just thought I would mention it. We don't just eat at our hotel. We eat at other hotels, parks and Disney Springs. I think part of the reason I look forward to a Disney trip is because of the food choices!

I agree with the other posters! We are a GF family with severe intolerance, possibly undiagnosed celiac. We go to Disney very, very often because it is a "safe place" for us and we have always loved Disney. While you are never 100% guaranteed, we feel safer. We also have so many options that I don't factor GF into any of my decisions except the inability to eat at Napoli in Epcot (should be named the flower/gluten cloud).

I'd choose the resort that appeals to you and your family and enjoy.
We love the Poly for theme, MK, monorail and relaxation and the Beach Club for the pool and proximity to Epcot and HS. We are considering the cabins at Fort Wilderness for our December trip as our son wants to camp and this is about as close as we want to get to actual camping.

I'm sorry to hear that. Celiac is a tough diagnosis (although it's nice to finally know what's wrong, isn't it?)...but it gets much easier with time. I was diagnosed 8 years ago and it feels like I have always eaten this way now.

I have never had a problem at any of the parks or restaurants getting good GF options. The chef at Chef Mickey's even offered to make me a custom meal. Everyone is super accommodating.

We have a child that needs GF and Dairy Free any suggestions

Most places can handle both just fine.

Many of the baked good that are DF are also GF: I find e.g. many of the buns and breads I get are the GF ones, which are also DF [I am not GF, but am anaphylactic to milk, tree nuts, peanuts, and seafood]. For packaged snacks ALWAYS read the ingredient list. Example: OMG Chocolate chip cookies are GF and DF, but the OMG brownies have a milk ingredient.

You should visit the bloggers website gfinorlando . Then click on Disney in top menu. She has a great blog on this

Any resort with a food court should be able to accommodate easily. We've stayed at the moderates and have never had an issue. We've also eaten at Wilderness Lodge and Grand Floridian quick service easily. Some options we've had in the past include: Mickey waffles, pancakes, burgers, fries, sandwiches, grilled cheese, chicken tenders, rotisserie( at Sunshine Seasons in Epcot and Cosmic Rays in Magic Kingdom), gluten free brownies and cookies (OMG Gluten Free brand). Many places also offer gluten free pasta and pizza too.
The values have big food courts and I've read good reviews for gluten free at them, just haven't stayed at a value so don't have first hand experience.

Disney Springs has Erin Mckenna's bakery-all gluten free!!! Blaze Pizza in Disney Springs has gluten free pizza that gets excellent reviews.
