Best Resort Restaurant

Our family's new favorite is Jiko. The service is excellent, the food cooked to perfection, impeccable timing, great selection and variety of foods with something to please everyone (from meat-lovers to vegans), wonderful desserts and wine list (next time, DH and I are going for the wine pairings). The atmosphere is just exotic enough. Loved meeting Moty (lovely young girl from Botswana) who seated us, and Michael, our server.

Boma is still second (variety, atmosphere, flavor), with CG a distant 3rd (a little too noisy and crowded for our liking).

I am so pleased to see so many votes for Boma. This is my personal favorite! AKL is my favorite resort, so I love the atmosphere, the food is unique and always wonderful. The service has always been excellent, too. And a pot of the best pressed coffee you will ever have to end the meal. Yummy!

LOL because I would rather be starve than eat at Chef Mickey's ever again. :rotfl2:
Favorite without children is Artist's Point- great meal and beautiful restaurant.
Favorite with children is Kona!!! LOVE IT Can't wait to go back.
I love Narcossee also that is a close second with kids if you go early.

We have a whole list to try the next time we go but we really love Maya Grill at CSR, Yum-Yum .

I'm going to seperate them by price a bit.
It is totally unfair to lump Chef Mickeys or Ohana in with California Grill and Artists Pointe.
I ate on the meal plan and Spoodles was a one bagger. But I'm going to put it in with the better places.

Of the better places, my favorite was Spoodles with California Grill a close second. Now on the meal plan the choice hands down is Spoodles. California Grill is a two credit, spoodles was one when I went. It's been a couple months since so that may have changed. If you're paying out of pocket, Spoodles is a less pricey but there are a couple entrees that get way up there in price and if you get the add ons, you can approach California Grill Prices. So be careful if you're on a budget. One in our party got the rigatone with a shrimp add on. She also got the shrimp appetizer. Melt in your mouth do die for. The young one in our party got the kid's steak. It was similar in quality to the adult cut. It eas actually better than the kid's cut at the California Grill. I got the most expensive steak with both add ons. Oink Oink. The scallops were out of this world, the shrimp were good too. The steak was perfectly done.
The last in our party got the seafood stew. If you don't like spices, skip it. It has some kick. But boy was it delicious. I'm glad we all decided to eat sort of family style and share everything. The other appetizers ordered were Mediterranean dips and another order of the shrimp. Junior got the Flatbread. It was good. Really good. but don't order it for the kids. They won't like it because it tastes different than Pizza. If you're paying out of pocket, a family of 4 could probably do with 3 entrees, and an order of mediteranean dips and a flatbread pizza and eat it family style. The shrimp appetizer was rather dinky but really delicious.

Second, and boy it was a very close second, California Grill. I ordered the Veal. Yummy Yummy. Oh man melt in your mouth delicious. Another in the party ordered steak. It too was really good. The Sushi was great.

Now we chowed down because we were on the meal plan, but the reality is a husband and wife could probably order one entree, mediteranian dips, and one desert at spoodles and leave pretty full. Same holds for the Cali grill if the appetizer is one of the more expensive plates of sushi. l

Well those would be my choices of the more pricey places.

Of the less pricey places, which really should be in a different category because no way they're going to measure up to the higher price places, my favorite was Boma.
Chef Mickey's was next.

Hope that helps.

Yeah Yeah, I know I cheated. Spoodles is technically on the boardwalk but that's close to two resorts. Sue me.

Definitely Artist Point. Even the kids loved it. The food was great, the service was great and the atmosphere was great!

LOVE the California Grill. The signature pork tenderloin entree is fabulous. However, it faces some competition on our next trip according to some reviews here.

I would say YSH and then Cal. Grill. ::yes::

Ditto, what a smart person you are...and good taste too....

It's a tie for us!
1) Ohana has a great atmosphere for families and the food is really good! We were there during the fireworks and they piped in the music from "Wishes". We had a seat right at the window with a perfect view of the MK! It was a truly special evening for my family!

2) Kona Cafe. The entrees are delicious and the desserts are even better!

I'm afraid I'm another who can't just choose 1. At the moment, my favorite is California Grill. I love the food and the view!! Dh would say that Boma is his favorite, and I'd have to say that it was mine for quite awhile. The food is just so different there. Kona is another favorite, but we've eaten there so much that it's not as special as CG now. And, of course, it doesn't have the view...but the Macadamia Mahi Mahi makes my mouth water!! Dd would say 1900 for dinner is her favorite, and dh and I enjoy it, too. It's great that there are now so many wonderful places to eat at WDW.

Adults' vote - tie between Artist Point and California Grill

Kids' vote - Whispering Canyon

Kids win this trip! We're going to WCC for our first night at WDW!!! Can't wait!! :hourglass

Well, I would say for breakfast- Boma or Kona
For dinner- Victoria and Albert's or Kona

Boma for the food in general. Yachstmans Steak House, just great. Oh and Beaches and Cream for the burgers.

Jiko in the AKL would be my pick. The decor and food cannot be beat. We have dined here many times and never been disapointed.
