Best resort restaurant?

We've never eaten at any of the resort restaurants. What one would you consider the best? I know this is a tough question because everyone's tastes are different. But what would you pick?

AAA has awarded only 46 restaurants in the entire United States with their Five Diamond Award. Victoria and Albert's, in the Grand Floridian, is one of the 46.

It is not a tough question. You asked for the best, and there it is. Note that it may be one of the least expensive Five Diamond Restaurants in the country.

Clearly Cheshire Figment has already provided the objectively correct answer. For what it's worth, I'll add that I don't think there's any need to qualify "best restaurant" questions as resort-only. All the best Disney restaurants are at the resorts rather than the parks.

I haven't tried V&A, but I've had good meals at Artist Point, Cali Grill, the Wave, Boma, Grand Floridian Cafe and Narcoosee's. However, for consistently great food and excellent service, I vote for Flying Fish. I've been there several times over the years, and the quality has never varied. Also, if you're celebrating a special occasion, the Flying Fish staff does the best job of recognizing the event, sometimes with personalized menus, complimentary champagne or unique desserts.

I would have to say Citricos and Yachtsmans Steakhouse are the best resort restaurants. Flying Fish might come in second to the other two.

Out of all of the restaurants we dined at during our trip in November, the best was at Artist Point at the Wilderness Lodge. The food was fantastic, the restaurant was beautiful, and the service was excellent.

Close behind is the Yachtsman Steakhouse & California Grill. Citricos & Flying Fish were both good.

Victoria & Alberts is probably the best, but here are plenty other great restuarants in the resorts.

Give us some more info, like the type of food you are looking for or the area of WDW you will be in, and we can give you better suggestions.

This. Absolutely. There are SO many choices that you could make, that it might be easier to list which are the worst.

Having eaten at almost every resort restaurant, sit down anyway, I must say and agree that V&A is the BEST. Dining there for the 5th time in 11 days!!! Also, agree that there are MANY great resort restaurants. I assume your question is for choosing purposes...so, then, it all depends!! Buffet, non buffet, seafood, steak...oh lordy, too many to choose from!!!

I love FlyingFish, Narcoosee's, Boma, Artist Point...check menus and just PICK!!!

My favorite is Citrico's but do like many of the others.

I've eaten at all of them repeatedly and Victoria & Alberts sits way to the top of the list.

Second I would pick the upscale restaurants at the Swan and Dolphin over any of Disney's restaurants. While I prefer bluezoo because I love seafood, Il Mulino and Shulas are also excellent.

After these, the best of the Disney restaurants would be Flying Fish and Citricos, followed by Jiko.

We have not had the Victoria and Albert's treatment, yet, so I can't comment on that. My shortlist for favorite restaurants in WDW (period, not just limited to resorts), would contain, in no particular order:

Jiko
Flying Fish
bluezoo
Shula's
California Grill

There are a few legitimately good restaurants in the parks, but none of them compare to the best of what can be found in the resorts.

Without a doubt, V&A's is the best on property. For some people though the price, or the need to get dressed up rules this out. In those cases, people should consider some of the "signature" restaurants. Our favorites are YSH, Citrico's, Artist Point, Flying Fish and Jiko. You may want to read the dining reviews here when trying to decide. :disrocks:

bluezoo was wonderful last week, our 3rd time dining here and we have loved it every time! We also enjoy Cali Grill, Citricos, and Artist Point. :thumbsup2

Unfortunately we did not enjoy Flying Fish and won't be returrning. We have given this restaurant two chances and have been disappointed both times.

We ate at every Disney-owned signature on this December 2011 visit (except Narcoossee's), and were very pleased with every meal, but particularly with California Grill. The food there was amazing (rainbow roll was unreal), but the experience including the fireworks (by the way, you can see Illuminations AND Wishes from the various decks) made for an extra special treat. Jiko, Flying Fish, Citricos, Yachtsman, Artist Point, Brown Derby (not resort, but still), Bluezoo -- all very good and absolutely several notches above the other restaurants at WDW.

Jiko, Bluezoo, and Flying Fish. We always manage to dine at all three on each of our visits.

Just dined at Citicos this month and loved it...great food and service. Also love Turf Club at SSR for both lunch and dinner.

I actually really love Jiko in Animal Kingdom Lodge. They have the best flatbreads and braised short ribs. Ummm makes me hungry just thinking about it. lol
