Best resort/hotel with washer/dryer in the room?

I have never stayed in a resort hotel that had a washer/dryer in the room. In the hotel...but not in the room. For that you will probably have to rent a time share condo.

Just back from a week at Windsor Palms. We rented a 3-bedroom, 2-bath condo with all the amenities of home and then some including a washer and dryer. We paid $90/nite which is a steal compared to any onsite hotel. I'd highly recommend it.

DaddyDon,
I checked out the web site link you posted. Looks like some nice places to stay. Have you stayed at any of the homes on the web site? DH noticed owners from UK? He was wondering how the whole payment thing worked out. Great rates but worried about having to make the final payment 10 weeks before vacation begins?

I've stayed at several homes in the Lindfields development which is one of the areas listed at that site. We were very pleased with all of them. And, as I mentioned, we just got back from Windsor Palms.

Many of the rental properties are owned by folks from the UK so don't be concerned about that. Sometimes you rent direct from the owner. Other times you rent from a management company hired by the owner. Paying in advance is no big deal as far as I'm concerned. We paid for last week's stay in July. The owner gave us a 10% discount for paying early. You do need to check out the cancellation policy, though. They are NOT as generous as hotel policies that let you cancel up to 3pm the day of arrival. Last minute cancellation may result in losing your entire payment.

these are timeshares you can rent - the studios/efficiencies will not have a washer/dryer.

the selection should improve at 60 days before you check-in - the prices will go down at 30 days(?). these are II (interval International resort exchanges)

http://tug.condodirect.com/iw/cs?a=0

these rates for the entire week

there is also

www.skyauction.com

this is for RCI - you need to add $231 (taxes and $195 fee) to the RCI bid for your finally payment.

only bid on the ones for an entire week - this site list hotels too... it does not say 7 days - don't bid - it is a hotel and you will be charged a per night rate too....

I forgot to answer your question

all the Marriotts are first class

the Sheratons are also good.

Have heard good things about the Wyndham Palms resorts.

not sure about the Clarion Suites or Blue Tree I have never stayed at these places...

I could have not answered it better than disney steve!!!!There are many dis members who rent houses thru that site and own houses on that site..Rent with confidence! Great owners and nice houses, and good prices...Check out there last min deals.

After all the negative input about the Vacation Villas, I was very happy with the villas we rented. It was a 2BR, 2 bath with loft that would sleep 8. A suggestion would be to ask for the triple digit units like PPP, RRR etc. since they are newer. We had none of the problems that others mentioned like mildew, or other cleanliness issues. Ours was very clean, and well maintained.

There were no issues with kids running around and being unruly.

We did not go the timeshare route and paid slightly more, but were not called one time for a maintenance "survey" by their staff.

It was very pleasant, roomy, clean, and well appointed. And, with 2 small children, the washer/dryer came in VERY handy.

I would now recommend the Westgate Vacation Villas. Oh, I forgot, it is only 5 minutes to Animal Kingdom, using the Sherbeth Road entrance.

I just got some rate info for what looks like a house from Orlando Villas. It is for a 5 bedroom 4 bath house. I am so surprise at a rate of only $130 night plus pool heat of $20 bucks a night. We only need 2 nights. This rate just seems to good to be true. We will be spending at least that much if not more for lodging in three different hotel rooms for 2 nights for our group of 11. Looks like Daddydon and Disneysteve have great comments about Orlando Villas. Has anyone else rented from Orlando Villas? Why would anyone spend money for hotel rooms when you can get a whole house. I really hope I hear great things because the house we have been told about looks perfect for our group.:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc ::yes::

This is a question I've asked many times. I think there are a few reasons.

1. Some people will only stay onsite.
2. Some people don't want to drive while on vacation, hence #1 above.
3. Some people insist on daily maid service. At a house, you need to wash your own towels, make your own beds, clean up after yourself, etc. Many people don't consider that a vacation.
4. Some people want the services and amenities of a resort hotel - i.e. nice landscaping, onsite restaurants, gift shop, boat rentals, room service, etc.
5. Final reason which I think is a big part of it also - a lot of people just don't know what is available out there.

$130/nite is pretty standard and $20/nite for pool heat is very reasonable. I would definitely go for it. You won't be sorry and you'll never stay in a hotel again.

Sheraton Vistana Villages were the best place I've stayed in : the washer dryer was lovely and the full kitchen outstanding. It was cleaned everyday and my gosh ! I was truely on holiday!
I recommend this offsite hands down!
