We will be traveling with an 18-month-old and a 3-year-old, so won't be spending full days at the parks and want a place they can have fun on the resort as well. I was thinking BCV because of SAB, but don't know enough about the other resorts to know if any of them would be better (or which would be next best if we can't get BCV). Any inputs would be appreciated.

All of the resorts have nice pools. I believe they all have zero entry pools as well.
I would say focus on the resort you wish to stay at. BWV, BCV, VWL and SSR have good walk while the kids sleep in the carriage options.
Personally, watching 2 kids at SAB with one age 3 would send my spidey senses into overdrive, especially with the currents, varied depths, bridges etc. Not my idea of relaxing by the pool. However, to each his own. The sand is as cool as it is annoying.
The point is to stay on the property that's most enjoyable to you. The kids will have fun everywhere, even in the room's tub.

Thanks SSRFred, definitely something to think about. I think since we are traveling with my IL's, it probably wouldn't be too bad (two adults per child).

Does anyone else have any suggestions/advice?

Teresa

We enjoyed our stay at VWL when DS was 2yo. They had a playground on the beach that we visited a few times, and even waded in the lake, though I don't think we were supposed to do that.

Not sure if any other WDW DVCs have a playground, but my sister enjoyed the one at Pop Century with her little ones.

My advice is SSR staying in the Grandstand section. It has the best sprinklers and younger kids would love it. I also like that you can park at your resort - the EPCOT DVC ones are nice, but it is a PAIN to get to your car and when you have young kids, that can be very important.

Just my advice...

I was thinking the same thing. We stayed at OKW last May with our 16 month old granddaughter and we really appreciated being able to park near the room.

Sadly this is not true. Of the places I stayed, AK, Poly, BCV and SST does.

WL, Vero and CSR and the values do not. All have some sort of wading pool or sprinkler thing. Loved Wl becuase of the boat service for a toddler and the stroller but the one thing I did not like is we had to hang out on the stairs with dd (3).

Of course BCV has SAB with the sand bottom pool which rocks! It would be my choice to spend some time by a pool. Hoping the new pool at AKV compares.

Anyone know if OKW has a zero degree entry at the main pool? this was super convienent at SSR last year with the little ones, but we're doing OKW this year.

They have a 'kiddie pool', but I don't believe they have a zero entry pool...

I would say I think that SSR is great for toddlers and babies. I went when my daughter was 3 and my son was 4 months. The pool is great since it is zero entry, it is quiet for nap times, it has a nice food court that is easy for the little ones. I would stay at the springs part since it is close to everything. Good Luck!

We stayed at AKV last fall and had one toddler (3) and two big kids. Our three year old loved it. She loved the zero entry pool and looking at the animals. The first thing she did in the morning was run to the sliding doors to look out, and it was the first thing she did when we came back to the room.

We also liked BCV when our son was younger because of the zero entry pool and the kiddie slide in the kiddie pool. We'll be staying at SSR this time around, with two toddlers, so we're encouraged by everyone's glowing reviews.

I think that VWL, SSR and OKW are the best for a toddler and the family with a toddler. Our little guy loved SSR for the pool and slide, and we liked the easy access to DTD.

OKW is great for mom and dad because of the size of the units. We also liked the easy access to the car (right outside the door).

VWL is convenient to the MK, but of these three it would be my last choice. The pool is not great for little ones (it is too crowded, and there is no place shallow enough for a toddler to stand). I also like the convenience of the DTD access at SSR and OKW.

BWV does NOT have a zero entry/beach entry in their main pool. They do, however have a little kiddy pool that is 1 foot (ish) deep.

I agree w/ the others about SSR because of the beach entry and the little Donald Duck water squirting area! My boy (now 3) loved it when he was 18 months old!

SSR or BCV would be my top picks. I had twins and it is hard to watch 2 babies around water...so I got mine life vests at the marina at BCV or at the rental shop at SSR...much easier on the mind
