Best resort for resort itself?

Beach club or boardwalk. Easy EPCOT access, great pools and fantastic resorts. others are great, but all are pretty isolated from park themes. Board, yacht and beach club has a resort all to itself.

For a family of 6 and lots of time in resort I would try and book a two bedroom Villa if possible.

Depending on the kids swimming ability and if pools are something your family enjoys BCV are amazing. I spent hours in the lazy river everyday, my son loved playing in the sand and you have the boardwalk resort and all the stuff going on over there close by. Plus walking distance to Epcot and Hollywood is pretty cool.

If swimming pool isn’t as big of a factor and you like animals the AKL is awesome. Lots of places around the hotel to see animals, and the Savannah view rooms are a once in a lifetime thing. Pools and kids play area is great and nothing like a cocktail and bread service in the lounge!

poly would be the other I would consider (though no villas), freshly refurbished, love the theming and it always felt to me kinda like a tropical vacation all on its own. Great bar, food, great pool/kids play area and convenience of monorail for not only MK but to hit up other deluxe resorts whether for a meal or roaming.

honestly though you can’t go wrong with any of them, I’m sure ur family will have a magical trip no matter whrre

I'll also put in a plug for a 2 bedroom villa (DVC) at Animal Kingdom. Kidani Village 2 bedroom villas have 3 bathrooms and a full kitchen, plus washer and dryer (less clothes to pack). The master suite is really nice. We also have 4 kids, though much older than yours are now, and the full living room is fantastic for off days. Not being crammed in a regular hotel room is very relaxing. Animal watching from the balcony is something my kids still love to do. The pools are good and the restaurants are fantastic. If you're renting a car, transportation isn't a big deal, though I would NOT drive to Magic Kingdom. Bay Lake Tower also has 3 bathrooms in the 2 bedroom villa, if you want to be close to MK and there is a sky bridge connecting it to the Contemporary. BLT has theme park view rooms and a viewing area at the Top of the World Lounge on the roof. BLT shares amenities with the Contemporary, so you would have to walk over there for dining, gift shops, etc.

How long is the bus ride from AKL to MK? Would be going next June.

It's about 7-8 miles, so 10-12 minutes by bus.

Some here will attempt to convince you that it's halfway across Florida, but these are the facts.

For the OP, with kids the age that yours are, it's hard to beat waking up and seeing giraffes and zebras from your balcony in the morning.

Of course, your budget is the biggest determining factor in where you stay.

Agreed except that part of Fort Wilderness is currently under construction, and who knows when Hoop Dee Doo Revue will return, so it doesn't seem like the best time to stay there.

Ah. We're not show people so I do forget about HdH. I know that's a draw for many though.

Hi! I'm planning our family's first trip to WDW in early May '22 and I am thinking we'll go for 9 nights.

Maybe do 4 park days (we have four kiddos, all under 7 yrs old) so we don't overdo it. 9 nights gives us 8 full, non-travelling days to enjoy, and I was thinking about doing the four parks with 1 day "off" for relaxing at the resort in between. We'll likely spend the late afternoons/early evenings-nighttime at the resort as well, due to our kids ages.

What resort do you all think would be the best for enjoying the amenties/pool etc.? I have my eye on the Contemporary, Riveria, Art of Animation, and Grand Floridian...but like I said, have never been! Please give me your best advice, thank you! :)
I would highly recommend Animal kingdom! My kids loved the resort. Watching the animals from your backyard can’t be beat. Beautiful pool, beautiful grounds, lots of activities for the kiddos. We stayed there on our last trip and fell in love with the place. Had hesitated because of the distance from the parks but it was really no big deal.

My second choice would be Beach club for the amazing water park sized pools and pirate ship. They have a sand bottom pool so the kids will love that.

As for a monorail resort, I would pick Polynesian resort over grand Floridian for the volcano pool, splash zone and dole whip stand.
