We are a family of 4. My DH and I, my 15 yo old son and my 12 yo stepson. Because the boys are not blood brothers, they would not be happy sharing a bed, so the 2 queen rooms are out. And because both boys are tall, the shortest is 5'4, a daybed is most likely too short.
We prefer the Deluxe and/or premium resorts but do not want a home away from home. I am on vacation. I don't want to cook and do laundry :D
Also the large suites might be beyond our budget.

Does anyone know of any resorts that might have rooms to accomodate us. One with a separate room, king or queen and then either 2 queens or 2 doubles in the main room?

I have tried to research on here and the disney site and there is so much to go through

Thanks in advance

Well, there are the deluxe rooms at Wilderness Lodge, or a 2 bedroom at one of the Home Away from Home (you don't have to cook there), or how about 2 rooms at either a moderate or value? Just make sure you ask for a connecting room due to family reasons.

Or, if you can do with one room, there is always the Contemporary. The day beds there are the same size as a twin bed.

I am a 6'2" male and slept on the day bed at the Yacht Club with no problem. We also stayed at a Deluxe Room (Jr. Suite) at the Wilderness Lodge and loved it. It has two queens and a pull out sofa in the living room. You could also maybe get a room at the WL or the Animal Kingdom Lodge with bunk beds. I slept on the top bunk at the AKL with no problem either.

hi: just a couple of other things to consider for you. we're dvc members so i can tell you a bit about the home away from home resorts. in a 1br unit, you'll have a king bed in the mbr and a pull-out sofa in the living room. you can fit a full-size air mattress in the living room when the sofa bed is opened. it's a tight fit but do-able. a 2 br unit would give you a ton of space as well as seperate sleeping facilities for both boys. even though we stay in these units, we never use that white stove decoration thing in the kitchen! my dil used it once to make hot tea. we do use the refrigerator for drinks and snacks. that will save you a ton of money right there-maybe enough to justify the difference in cost for the room. we usually get fruit, some cereal, bread, and drinks to have on hand. it's a lot easier to have breakfast in the room. as far as laundry goes, the 1br and larger units have the washer/dryer right in the room. it's very easy to throw a load of towels in the washer and dryer every day. you'll also be able to bring less clothes with you since you have that option. however, everyone is responsible for their own laundry-not just you.

Ok, WDWNUT, I have a Question about that. I am not a DVC member. Aren't those 2 bedroom villas tons of money? And are they far away fromthe resort areas, like pools, restaurants, other recreation, the TTC?
