Best resort for Halloween?

Hi all,

We're planning a Halloween visit. We were there last year for Halloween (including 10/31 night at MNSSHP) and we had a BLAST.

We stayed at Kidani and really enjoyed it. This year we were thinking we'd try to stay somewhere that would best fit a Halloween theme.

Right now we're booked for camping at Ft. Wilderness (we've tent camped there many times.) DH just told me yesterday that he'd rather not deal with tents and a preschooler again, and I kind of agree with him.

So far I'm thinking:

Ft. Wilderness Cabin
Grand Floridian

DH said Wilderness Lodge would give a nice Twin Peaks vibe. ;) We're staying there for Christmas though, so I'd rather stay away from it before our long trip in December.

Any ideas? I know its a stretch but I'm sort of tapped out of ideas. I thought I had this one planned out but now the plans have changed.

(FTR, POFQ is booked during our dates.)

Thanks for any advice on a silly question!

The first thing that came to mind was Coronado Springs. :scratchin I don't know if they do anything regarding "Day of the Dead" or not, but it might be worth finding out. I stayed there for Christmas 2 years ago and they did a beautiful job in decorating. Perhaps a Carribean Beach Pirate room? pirate: Whatever you decide, I'm sure it will beat a tent and a preschooler (when I read that part, I got scared!!! :scared:

Go for whichever of the resorts have those long, Shining-like hallways. Or you could stay at BWI for the Pennywise slide.

All kidding aside, does the idea of walking back from the party appeal to you at all? You could always go with the Contemporary.

None of the resorts decorate for Halloween like they do for Christmas so I think the cabins at Ft Wilderness will give you the most Halloween atmosphere because you'll be among the campsites that are decorated. Some of the guest staying at the values and moderates will decorate their windows and a handful will decorate at the deluxes, but overall there isn't a lot.

There really aren't many Halloween decorations in the resort lobbies other than a few pumpkins that are decorated by CMs for their carving contests close to Halloween and the Halloween merchandise in the stores.

Going at both Halloween and Christmas? I'm jealous of your paycheck.
:)

Living in FL for 9 months helps! Those FL resident discounts are sweet! Our annual passes weren't that much more than our 10-day passes for Dec. would have been. Plus, I think my husband is hoping that by the time we leave FL I'll have Disney out of my system so he's encouraging a lot of short visits. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::

Poor guy.
