We have our home resort (OKW) booked for our Christmas trip. We would like to change at the 7 month mark which is next week. I am trying to figure out which DVC resort to try to switch to. We will be on the dining plan and I know the Epcot resorts would be handy for this reason. VWL are supposed to be a good pick during Christmas because of the decorations and wilderness feel. We will be staying in a studio for 7 nights.

While the lodge has great holiday decor in the main lobby, I'm not sure I would handle a 7 night stay in a studio. I'm sticking with staying at OKW, and visiting the WL lobby when I go to dinner at Artist Point. ;)

I'm probably in the minority when I picked BWV. But in my opinion, Epcot and MGM are the two parks I like the most at Christmas time-with the Osborne Lights, Candlelight Processional, Holiday Storytellers, Tree-lighting ceremony with the characters at the Winter Arch of Lights (or whatever it's called, where FW meets WS). And sitting on the balcony of your villa, admiring the garland-wound light poles, seeing the Poinsetta Christmas tree in Village Green, listening to the Christmas music. Can you tell I've been there and love it!?

I picked VWL and then asked DH, and he agreed. We would pick BWV second because of all the things that Simba's Mom mentioned. We own at both and alternate resorts each year in December.

There is music holiday entertainment at the WL lobby as well.

I picked BWV, love being there for the holidays.

I like all of the resorts at Christmas! They all have their own unique decorations. But I'm partial to BCV at Christmas.
And 7 days in a studio at Christmas in any resort would be great!

Enjoy!

After our conversation 3 weeks ago at our BWV fun time, can you guess which resort I voted for??? Hi Simba's Mom

I voted for VWL. That is where we are staying. I also wanted to wish you luck, especially if you are going for Christmas week specifically. I would think that most of the resorts are booked for that week at this point.

Good luck,
Lori

I picked BCV 'cause, well because!LOL

All the resorts are beautifully decked so you end up going to see them anyways!

But like the OP said, good luck, it's tough to switch.

I will see what is available at the 7 month window. I think we will try for location, location, location. Wish me luck :thumbsup2

From the looks of your counter and mine I believe we will both be on the phone at the same time!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Set the clocks now!!! :grouphug:

I picked the BCV because we love staying there at the holidays. The location can't be beat and we are very spoiled. I also love the Boardwalk too. We spend the majority of our time in Epcot. The Wilderness Lodge is very pretty especially at the holidays but it is a little isolated for me. Notwithstanding, I would be thrilled to stay at any of the DVC properties. All of them have their advantage points! :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

Here's a question since we're talking Christmas. By what date are the DVC resorts decorated for Christmas? Mid November? End of November?
Thanks!

Thanks Everyone!

I decided I would let availability be my guide. When I called Monday I asked which resort had the most availability for the week I wanted. The CM said BCV. I am calling day by day and am hopeful to get the week I am looking for. The last night might need to be waitlisted, but we will see.

I don't want to jinx my luck. I will let you know how I did switching @ the 7 month window.

Thanks!

We went on a DCL cruise in '04 in Novemeber, and then stayed at VWL for one night, Nov. 14, or 15th. The lobby already had the holiday decorations.
