Looking for some help here I want to do a big 8 day trip next November. My family is a party of 5 which hotel accommodates 5. Deluxe or moderate. Thanks

Ages of your family members? Smaller kids will fit better than five adult sized people.

There's "accommodate" and accommodate....and it sort of depends on how much you love or hate the 5th person :rotfl2:

Knowing age ranges might help with recommendations.

So we are a family of 4, my girls are 14 and 12 and we've done some of the DVC studios so we get an extra bed as my younger daughter likes the pull down murphy beds under the TV and they don't have to share.

Assuming your party of 5 includes 3 kid on this. If your youngest is ok with a small, smaller than twin for sure, then look at the resorts with a pull down 5th sleeper, like Caribbean Beach Resort (Moderate resort-only certain rooms have the 5th sleeper), or a DVC Studio (these are all deluxes) but those will have one queen, a pull out sofa and the pull down murphy. Port Orleans Riverside (mod) has these 5th sleeper rooms too but they've not yet reopened. If the kids are good with a sofa bed, they work great. The DVC studios don't offer a ton more space than a regular two queen room but the sleeping flexibility and small kitchenette works for us. There are a few DVC one bedrooms that have a nice full size pull down Murphy bed plus the smaller under TV murphy like Riviera and Saratoga springs. Those will offer you a full kitchen and a king size bed. We've not stayed in one of those yet but are looking at the one bedrooms as the kids get older.

FYI, I think there is a weight limit on the small pull down murphy beds, I don't recall what it is but my 12yo is short, about 4'10" and maybe 90lbs and she's fine on it. I am 5'2"/120lbs and would not be at all comfortable sleeping on that. I could sleep on it if it was my only option but I wouldn't be happy, especially for an 8 day trip.

So in WDW terms, you really are still just a family of 4 (since under 3 does not count towards room capacity).
I personally would stay at a Mod and save a lot of $$ over the deluxe. But you can also look at renting DVC pts to stay at a deluxe and save $$ also.
Be aware that a room for 4 accommodates "one child under 3 in a crib," meaning the 2 y/o will be expected to sleep in the pack n play that Disney provides - there won't be a "real" bed for that child. If you want a bed for that child, then the recommendations for parties of 5 in the previous threads are good ones for you.

The Cabins at Fort Wilderness are really fun and you’d get multiple bedrooms at a reasonable price. We normally stay in deluxes, but I was surprised how much I liked FW. Especially if you include renting a golf cart in your budget and take advantage of the onsite activities.

The cabins at fort wilderness are awesome (but pricey) for a family of five, and you have a bedroom you can close off and a full kitchen. And Fort Wilderness is awesome. They’re considered moderates.

We are a family of five. Right before my youngest turned 3, we stayed at Port Orleans French Quarter. She slept in a pack and play and absolutely loved it! We thought she might end up in bed with us, but she didn't. She thought it was the coolest thing. Who knew! We really loved that resort. Everything feels close and the theming is awesome.

We have also stayed in the Alligator Bayou of Port Orleans. This room accommodates five by having a single murphy bed that pulls down. She also loved that bed.

We also stayed in All-Star Music family suite. We had my sister-in-law with us. She slept out in the living room on the fold out couch with my one daughter, my son on the pull out chair and the youngest was in the pack and play with us in the bedroom. I don't know how I would feel about that young of children sleeping in the living room alone as that is the room with the exterior door.

A little more pricey would be Art of Animation family suites. Since your youngest "doesn't count" you could also stay in a Little Mermaid room with a pack and play. Advantages of this resort: Skyliner, fun main pool area, extra nice theming...fun resort!

Happy Planning!

My fam of 5 ( kids 15,11,8) just stayed at CBR a few months ago and it was perfectly fine. The 2 boys shared the queen bed and my daughter, the 11 yr old slept in the smaller pull down. Everyone was comfortable. A 2nd bathroom would be nice but eh. We’ve done family suite at all star music in the past (2 bathrooms!) and that was great and they’ve since been remodeled. We are doing a BWV studio for our upcoming trip. Boys will share the pull out couch bed and she will get the small Murphy again I’m sure. It works fine for now. By the time my 9 yr old is too big to share with the teen, the teen will be grown and doing his own thing and probably not on all these trips with us anymore. 😢 which is sad to think about, but is also realistic for us. Anyway…. 🤣

CBR was comfortable. I’d like to do riverside at some point once it reopens.

When I went as a child (as part of a family of 5) we stayed in the cabins at FW. As tweens/teens I stayed with my mother and my father and brothers stayed in a different room, usually next door. But where your children are quite young, I'd do cabin.

Riviera is my favorite room for our family of 5 at the moment, but expensive.

+1 for Fort Wilderness Cabins.

If there's any other family who might want to go with you, you could invite Aunty or Grandma and Grandpa and do two rooms at a Moderate.

I think the king of the Mods right now is Caribbean Beach just because the Skyliner is so incredible. The rooms themselves could use a refurb, but the grounds, lobby, and pools are looking awesome.

I know you say you don't want "Art", but honestly, with a family of 5, the two bathrooms in the family suites there would have me sold immediately. Not to mention the Skyliner access - we visited the resort for the first time in early June just to look around and my 15 and 17 year old actually loved it and said they'd stay there (they are resort snobs!!)

I have a family of four, with two teen boys. We had one night at Caribbean Beach in a fifth sleeper room before moving to our week at the Yacht Club - the small bathrooms at CB would have been miserable for us for a full week!! I would not want to have a family of five in one of those rooms for 8 days. Nope, nope, nope. (Aside from the tiny bathroom and dark rooms, I actually enjoyed the resort part of Caribbean Beach. But the bathroom area was small enough to where I wouldn't want to stay there even if I was by myself - i mean, i would if i had to, but it would not be my preference. I like space.)

I'm going to go with the other suggestions of Ft. Wilderness Cabins.

Or rent DVC points (or book a cash DVC room) to get a larger room with more space.

I also recommend considering Art of Animation. The suites are really nice, super themed for the kids which my kids are similar ages and LOVE. There's a full bedroom/master with a bathroom then the couch pulls out in the living room and the table is a murphy bed. So it would actually give you the ability to sleep 6 and there is a second bathroom in the main living area.

The skyliner was so awesome last trip that even this trip we made sure to get a resort on the skyliner. It made going to and from the resort so easy and the kids had an absolute blast with it!

With kids those ages they don't require a lot of bathroom time so I would go with a deluxe if it's in the budget. I assume you'll spend a lot of time at MK so I would probably go with a monorail resort. I believe they all have a daybed and they are a decent size. If not a monorail resort the BC is amazing. Request a room with a daybed which I believe you'll get since you are 5 people.
