Resort Thread Disney's POP CENTURY Resort

I will tell you that our experience with Walmart is that the produce is sub par. If your not ordering produce then you will be fine.
Thanks! LOL - produce and Disney do not go together in our books so we're all good. Moreso looking for park snacks (protein to avoid the hangries) and breakfast foods/drinks. Appreciate the tip though!

Contact your bank/credit card company to notify them of this kind of purchase.

Last time we used Walmart, our bank thought it was fraud since it was for a purchase out of state with a different address! The charge showed pending and walmart couldn’t delivery it. We had 10 people in a 2 bedroom with no food…

Ordered thru Target and everything was delivered the next day. It took 10 days for the pending to drop from our account.

Good point! I just added a travel alert to my cc now so that it won't be surprised by a FL address.

Next thing I need to figure out is how to order groceries to be delivered to Pop. Sometimes having an International credit card limits who I can order with. Have any International guests had groceries delivered to Pop and if so, what company did you use?
We just got back from AoA and did Aldi and Target via Instacart. We sent our orders in when we were at the airport in the morning and both orders made it to bell services before we did. Aldi order: bagels, applesauce pouches, fruit snacks, packs of cookies, bag of pretzels, cases of gatorade and water, sliced turkey/cheese and rolls (never went bad in the beverage cooler with ice packs), microwave mac and cheese cups. Target: Oatmeal, Coconut water, canned tuna (for someone who has food allergies for quick protein)

I don't know how you can do this, but I would somehow do a test run if having the card works where you need it. When I worked in Saudi Arabia I called my bank and (supposedly) logged a travel alert. When I got there, I went to dinner and my card was declined. I called the bank the next day and they said "You should have told us beforehand."

Thanks. My card allows me to add a travel alert in the app. I have already done this for our upcoming trip and received a confirmation email. I do this often and have never had a problem. But, thanks for the heads up.

Same. Never had a problem after adding the alert via the app.

Can someone who is at Pop now or was there recently confirm whether 1/2 gallons of milk are available at Everything Pop? I know there was discussion in 2024 about that no longer being available, but I was hopeful that it was brought back. Thank you!

Hopefully someone more recently can tell you, but they did not in July. Having said that; we did grab a half gallon at Beach Club on the way back to Pop one night on the skyliner which worked fine. - If that's all you're going for though I assume Riviera has them and it's closer.

Me. DW, wants to stay at Pop Century
DH wants to stay at Boardwalk and rent a DVC

I see his point if they have Deluxe extra hours in the parks - being able to walk to EPOCT

But we could save $200 a night at POP - use the money for direct minnie poke-a -dot LYFT service at $50 a ride and still have $100 left over each day for food

So would you do POP or Boardwalk DVC studio rental ?

Stay at Pop,fly to and from Epcot and have lots of fun mon.

Yeah. Pop + Skyliner is a wonderful combo.

If you want to save money and get those deluxe evening hours, the Swan and Dolphin might be your best bets.

Just received our room assignment and it’s perfect!! Challenge could be tonight is a one night reservation I added later. Hoping we can keep our room for the remainder of our trip! Will ask at the front desk when we arrive.

I used your technique of snail-mailing in a request @WEDWDW and it worked - at least for one night.

Both … 🤣☺️ But we are always doing split stays with Pop and our DVC.
Most people don’t enjoy it so to each their own!

Best of luck! Let us know how it goes

I think like you do and am happy at Pop. However, when I bring (drag) DH along, we always stay at Yacht Club or Boardwalk (occasionally AKL). DH likes the quieter atmosphere, daily housekeeping (which you don't get renting DVC points), and a nicer lounge and restaurant scene. If it makes him happy, I will spend the extra money and not worry about it. That being said, I'll be at Pop with my sister and her kids in a few days and we will have a blast there. I make the best choice for my marriage and DH's continuing agreement to go to WDW with me.

Groovy,I think they are really impressed by a Guest who goes to the trouble to Snail Mail and really try hard to fill the request.

We even had a situation one trip where we messed aound and were late mailing our Snail Mail knowing there was a chance it would not make it in time.

When we got there our assigned room was not what we had wanted, but it was fine, so we kept it and didn't go ask about a possible change.

Well,2 days into our trip we came back to our room and found some Resort specific items they were giving us along with a nice card stating they were so sorry but they had just received our Snail Mail!

They were apologizing for OUR mistake!

DIsney is still Disney!
