We are celebrating my son's birthday at WDW - he will be turning 4! If we could stay an ANY resort, which is the VERY best for a family of five, including our little man?

THANKS!!

My DS2(at the time) and DNiece5(at the time) loooooved the Poly!! They enjoyed the beach, little water play area and the pools. Being on the monorail line was so convenient, and having breakfast at 'Ohana was great. The rooms are some of the biggest on property, and there were lots of kids' activities in the lobby, on the beach and at the pool.

We're staying at every deluxe before we repeat, but we go back to the Poly for a few hours each trip.

If you are planning lots of MK time, then the Poly. If not, I'd say Beach Club.

Depends. If you looking for the best transportation time, I'd say the Poly. Its on the monorail, and the stop right after the Poly is the (I forget the actual name of it) but its like Grand Central Station - you can get anywhere from the next stop.
If your not asking in terms of transportation, I'd say the Boardwalk. Lots to do, you have to whole boardwalk to tour when your not going to the parks. Plus you can walk to Epcot and Disney Hollywood Studios, or take the boat. Plus you are close to several other hotels that may have restaurants or play rooms you want to visit.

We stayed at the beach club on our last trip and the pool area was great! My kids loved playing in the sand bottom kids pool! We also liked being able to walk to Epcot and take the boat to HS and also walk over to the boardwalk area! I didn't really care for the bus ride to MK though where we really spent a lot of our time. I think I'd probably rather be on the monorail line and think the Poly would be my 1st choice of those resorts! We spent some time there one evening and really enjoyed it! We walked over to the transfer station and rode the monorail back to Epcot and it was super close! Wilderness lodge wouldn't be too bad either. I like that you can boat to MK and the lodge itself and pool area looked fun!

I think my first choice might be a DVC at either Beach Club or Wilderness Lodge but I think the Poly would be my first choice for convenience with transportation. It'd come down to price after that to make my decision.

I like the monorail resorts for convenience, but I think the resorts that have DVC villas seem to have more children's activities. We stayed at Boardwalk with 3 YO DS (and previously, with 3 yo DN) and they loved it. Lots of activities at the pool and rec center, the evenings are lively with lots of entertainment on the boardwalk. Also, DS loved the boats that went to and from epcot and DS. On the same week we were there, friends were at Poly with their similarly aged kids, and their kids didn't like it- said no kids' activities, the year before they were at WL and said there were lots of kids activities- again, WL has a DVC.

Either way, you can't lose with a disney deluxe resort!

Somewhere on the monorail if you can afford it. We are taking a 3 1/2 year old and 13 month old in Sept and are staying at Bay Lake Tower at the Contemporary. It's a 2 bedroom villa with a living room & kitchen, and I think it will work out well. My parents are coming to help too (and helping pay :))

Thank you so much for the responses!! We also have two 14 year olds coming (one ours, one friend)... We're wondering about sharing the bathroom space, but I'm really concerned about transporting a cranky 3 YO. My husband is concerned about food! I'll look into the DVC places! :thumbsup2
