Starting to look at resorts for the 2016 Princess Half. This is my first RunDisney event and I am beyond excited!!! We have been to disney many many times - last stay was POR in December.

For those that have participate in runs - which is the best resort? Ease of getting to races for the runner and for the cheer squad coming later. and most importantly, getting back to after the event.

Any advice much appreciated.

never done the race - but for me getting back after would like the closest resort possible.

Every WDW resort has a dedicated busses going to/from ESPN and the races. How quickly you get back to your resort depends on how long you have to wait for a bus and how quickly it fills. The races start in the Epcot parking lot and the 5K and 10K end there as well. If you stay at BC, YC or BWI, it is possible to walk back to them if you enter Epcot at the main gate and exit through the International gateway. You need a park ticket to do that though.

All resorts are host resorts so that means all have transportation to and from the race. You and family members can use this. I usually stay at the boardwalk but thats only because the 10k goes by there. The half does not. It goes closer to the MK resorts. Yes, you can walk through the Epcot parking lot, through Epcot and to the Epcot resorts but there's no way im doing that after running 13 miles, plus you will need a ticket. The buses run fairly often and they are nice chartered buses, not normal WDW buses. So really it comes down to whats your budget and where do you want to stay?

Like other have mentioned, they all have buses to/from the races. Our favorite moderate is POR, we never had a problem with buses. As a spectator watching my wife run the Princess Half a few years ago, had no problem with monorail between Epcot and MK resorts to spectate. On some races, we drove to Epcot and parked there, so we didn't have to get up as early to catch the bus, that wasn't a problem either.

We're targeting an Epcot area resort for this race. I'm looking forward to the rates being released soon so we can start budgeting. :)

We stayed at Pop Century for the race this year and the buses were great to ESPN and the race. I think we barely waited 5 minutes for them ever. Have a great time.

When we did the Princess Half a few years ago, we stayed at the Swan. It was great! Comfy beds, cheaper rates, and still had transportation. I had intended to walk back through Epcot but my husband vetoed the plan. :)

I have to admit it was one of the more relaxing rides back. My feet were exhausted!!

Good luck in the race!
