We just bought a DVC at AKL and we thinking about going this summer when our son will be 15 months old. Most of the things he will be able to do I assume will be at MK. Anyone have any good advice for us...particularly on the resort that we should try to book?

I would book at AKL! We stayed there back in December and my almost 2 year old LOVED it!! Every time we walked back into our room she'd say "I see my animals" and go running towards our balcony. It was also great when DD and DH would take their nap and I could go exploring. I got to hear a zebra talk and that to me was worth staying there!!

Kidani with a savanna view would be great. Honestly, my son is 5 yo and has been to WDW about 7 times, and his favorite resort was All-Star Music, but I think it was the bright, fun themes of the resort. He has always loved Kidani and he was 3 yo at his first Kidani stay. You will find it to be very relaxing as well! It is nice that the bus stops at Kidani first, so you will always board an empty bus to go to the parks. The pool and play area at the pool is really nice too.

Based on this, I'd vote for BLT hands down. You are going to need nap times and it is an easy walk from MK to BLT. It has a nice water play area for toddlers in the pool area.

Honestly, at 15 months he will be fine at any resort. I'd focus on what will be easiest/best for you. :)

I vote for BLT, BWV or BCV so you don't have to fold up the stoller and ride a bus as often.

ok, thanks! I appreciate your ideas! Now we just have to wait until Disney gets our info on June 3 so we can make a reservation!

I was going to say AKV - then I saw your comment about MK. We found with our DD at 15-months, we spent the most time at Epcot. Yes, MK has lots more rides for your little one's age, but it doesn't have anywhere for them to roam. There were lots of great spaces DD could toddle around in Epcot. Plus all the Nemo stuff, the Land boat ride, the Figment ride and indoor play area.

If you're sure you will spend the most time at MK, then go for BLT. But if you think you may spend more time at Epcot or other parks, I'd go with an Epcot resort or AKV.

We stayed at BLT with our 18mo twins. It was great to take the short walk from MK for naps or a quick park visit. They loved the character meals. We were lucky and saw many kids scared of them. Even went over for a first haircut at MK.
Also as a monorail resort never underestimate the fun the little ones have just riding the monorail. Epcot is a 30-40min trip with monorail change and they loved it the entire ride.
Buses require you to remove the child and fold up the stroller. Many times you dont have to on the monorail - only if crowded and you dont want to wait for an emptier train. Good if the little one has fallen asleep. If they are awake better to get them out of the stroller and close it up. Makes more room and they can see more sitting on your lap.
BLT makes it easier on you transportation wise for both Epcot and MK.

Depending on when exactly you are going, you may have a difficult time finding what you want if you don't get your points until June and you are talking about this summer. 2 months or less is pretty much last minute for DVC bookings. You may end up at AKV or SSR.

But if you have a choice, I would book at BLT given having a little one that will probably really enjoy MK best. Plus you can walk to the park from BLT.

If you go to parks every day non-stop and want to come home just for naps. BLT and BC are 2 best choices. As they are close to 2 or 3 parks and have walk in pools. (BW doesn't but does have a baby pool. And the hallways can be a super long walk after a long day.)

My 3rd choice if the others are full would be SSR. It is centrally located for everything, has 3 splash areas (well 2 and 1 walkng dist in DTD), and has a bus near almost every building. We like SSR due to we stop early like 12- 1 ish go to resort nap/relax/lunch then pool for a while and then go back out at night. DTD is perfect walk with a stroller for dinner, and if you stop back between 2 diff parks it is in the middle of everything.

100% chance of this happening if I ever visit WDW with a 15 mo-would be a future grandchild at this point.:wizard:

This. For a 3-4yr old I would suggest AKL for all the animals and the water play area etc. But at 15 months they will enjoy exploring anywhere. We found when our children were young like that we spent a lot more time wandering Epcot. We enjoyed it more and the kids were perfectly fine with it. So for that reason I would suggest BC. The pool there has a zero entry area and the cool sand my little one loves the play in. Right in the same area is a tiny toddler water pool and a little play set.

Well, I know it's last minute, so I just hope we can get in somewhere! Thanks everybody!
