What is the best experience you have ever had at a Disney resort? What made it special?

My daughter's wedding ceremony at the gazebo at the YC and then the cocktail hour on the beach at the BC! Magical!!

Many great experiences...at the top of list would be getting getting upgrade to cl at the poly and bc. :upsidedow

Our first stay at YC was on a trip that was a POR/YC split stay, three days at each hotel. When we checked in at YC, we got a surprise, free upgrade to CL. That was in 2006, and back then CL offered a lot more food than they do now. The surprise of the upgrade was probably the best part....it was 7:00 a.m., I was barely awake, and the front desk CM started printing gold keys instead of blue..perked me right up!

sounds like there's a lot of great stories about the yacht club .... maybe I should stay there next time. I've never stayed there but near by at the swan. One of our best disney experience from technically not even a disney resort. We were upgraded to a corner room that viewed both Epcot and Hollywood studios (some nights we saw one set of fireworks then fantasmic off the balcony and wishes way off in the distance. It was amazing, but the best experience I have ever had was at either contemporary when they used to have more wing rooms we got upgraded to floor 7 of the tower(one floor above the monorail and gift shop/food areas) and it was incredible ... to watch wishes we just walked out our door and there it was(you could even here the music). Recently, one of our best stays happened. This was at the wilderness lodge in June of this year. We went to check in and discovered we'd been upgraded from a woods view to a magic kingdom view which there is very few of. When we originally checked in they said you may not be able to see magic kingdom because of the overgrown trees but they said you may still catch a glimpse. So, we get up to our room and look out the window first thing and guess what we see? The CASTLE right perfectly framed in a section of tress grown up in almost a perfect circle around it .... it was truly magical. The last night of our stay we even went back to the hotel and watched wishes from the window and never missed a firework. It was incredible. It's definitely one of the best memories I've ever had at disney world. Truly Magical.

I have to say 2012, my first solo trip. I had booked a standard-view room at the BC, got off the ME bus, young lady CM with a clipboard approached me and asked my name, and when I told her, she said she had a surprise for me, I'd been upgraded to CL! I swear I was almost tearing up when she took me up the elevator. I had a perfect location, last room on the first stretch straight out from the lounge, so I had no neighbors on the right or across the hall, short walk to the concierge/lounge/elevators. Had an awesome Mousekeeper who left great towel animals (including a rabbit and an elephant). I didn't take as much advantage of the lounge as I should have, but it was great being able to pop in when I "came home" and grab a Diet Coke from the fridge. I love BC, it was my first Disney resort, and if money were no object it would probably always be my first choice.

For me it was my very first visit to WDW and we were staying at the WL. I was very naïve about Disney, and just followed the itinerary and restaurants the travel agent planned for me(it worked out great). I was booked for a standard view room at the WL for 7 days. Upon approaching the front desk we were asked if we were celebrating anything and if we had ever been to WDW or the WL. I told her this was our very first time at WDW; after a moment she told us that we were about to experience a magical time at WDW and a little pixie dust was falling our way. I had no idea what she was saying and figured it was the normal usage of words at WDW.

While she was getting us our first time visitor badges and making some friendly conversation (about 2 minutes) a gentleman approached us and then informed us that we had been upgraded to CL and for us to follow him up to the CL floor so we could be checked in. At that moment it still did not sink in but we knew something neat was happening. The room turned out to be a standard view(wish I could add to the magic and say it was an inner courtyard view), but after that first time we have been hooked on CL. We have been to the WL three times and ready to make it our fourth in three more months and will be trying the AKL in June 2014 staying CL as well. :goodvibes

2001. We stayed GF RPC on the Platinum Plan (then called the Grand Plan) for a week. It was a gift from my boss for completing a huge system conversion and my husband and I had the time of our lives. I actually choked up when it was time to leave.

Last August we took our twins on their first trip to the World. We stayed at POR in a new Royal Room. We were upgraded from garden to river view in Parterre Place and had an amazing view of the garden, fountain, and river right outside our door. We felt very " Royal" in our room with all the theming and decor. It was also enjoyable walking past the garden and fountain and along the river each day as we travelled throughout the World and back to our room. The fountain was particularly pretty at night when it was all lit up.

When I was little I remember the Dolphin and jumping from beach ball to beach ball on the carpeting in the room hallways with my sister. Don't step on the lava!

Good times :cool1:

For my family it would be the WL. The resort is just magical to us and we just feel so happy there. Walking to the boat dock and heading to the MK is awesome!

We've gotten upgrades at the GF several times, but our best visit ever was for our 22nd anniversary. We had booked CL, but were concerned because there was construction going on and DS has hyperactivity---extreme sensitivity to loud noises. The GM of the GF chose our room personally, so it wouldn't be too loud for our son. When we arrived, the CM who checked us in was extra attentive. Our parlor room was large, great and quiet. The staff delivered a red rose, a split of champagne and chocolates to our room. It really was magical.

definately one of my favorites too.... so many good times the 3 times I've stayed there

Staying poly, club level magic kingdom view....feeling pampered right from the start when they took us via golf cart to the Hawaii building from the dme bus out front....getting up before the family to have my coffee and watch the castle changing colors, being able to see the fireworks from bed, watching the electric water parade from our patio, it was truly magical.
