Hi,

We weren't originally going to Disney at all but decided since we are taking a 4 day DCL cruise to relax at Disney before. Due to cost and a couple of days at USF after the cruise we have decided to buy 1 day ticket w/ water park (I really wish we got 10% off regular tickets, would make me love DVC even more. . :worship:) and more which will give us 2 options. Planning water park and Disney Quest. We are only on site for 3 days. IOur fave park is DHS so we are going there on Monday which has late magic hours.

For dinner all the park restaurants are booked. We are staying at BCV. Just wondering what would be the easiest and best restaurant not DHS to book for dinner? We are paying for the DDP and thought about experiencing a signature restaurant. So far we have only done the one at the Contemporary.

We were thinking of Yahtsmen Steakhourse or Jiko? Would these be doable from DHS? Or any other suggestions?

Thanks for the input.

Yahtsmen Steakhouse is good and you can take the boat there from DHS.
Jiko may sound a bit out of the way but will take about the same amount of time form DHS as YS. You can also try the Brown Derby at DHS. I would not use the DP for any of these it would be more cost effective to pay cash. also if you have a part of 4 or less your chances are good as a walk up but I would not suggest anything other the BD at DHS.

Just a quick suggestion.. if you're in the mood for something different.. perhaps look into the Sci Fi diner???

I vote Yachtsman!! We loved it - for sure worth the 2 TS credits IMO...it was our best meal of the trip...a quick boat ride away from DHS and you can go back to the park after dinner for Fantasmic!!

We have done Sci-Fi and it was fun but full that night. It does not appear that Fantasmic is being held on Monday (sad am I) but will still be fun.

Dining Plan simply takes away the worries of cash and my DH like it so I go along since it is easy. We get in late and leave early so I have an "extra" TS credit which is why I thought I'd try out a signature.

Glad to hear about Yahts Steakhouse as reviews online look mixed. But I love steak.

Our other thought was the luau dinner at Polynesian, but again reviews are mixed? Would this be worth it? We did the Hoop-Dee-Do and it was a blast! DH got on stage and it was fun during our Disneymoon a few years back.

Also, any thoughts on Beaches and Cream for a late arrival dinner?

I've tried Beaches and Cream twice, and have been disappointed with the hamburger both times. It's just not worth it to me.

I don't know how late they serve, and how late you're arriving, but I've had good meals at the Captain's Grille.

I have never been one to hold back on opinions....I don't feel like the luau and HDDR are even in the same category!! I find the food at the Luau average, and the dessert is my least favorite in all restaurants that I've been to at WDW...the show is just OK, I've been twice and I just can't bring myself to love it (although the fire-dancer is great!).

HDDR has great food and fantastic entertainment. We are having our wedding reception there next year we like it so much!

I also want to throw in a vote for Kouzzina at Boardwalk - I went there a few weeks ago and it was fantastic!

We like Flying Fish at Boardwalk ( it's bit closer to DHS than BCV if you decide to walk instead of taking boat ). ESPN Club is usually quick & decent quality casual meal - - we've had good success walking up to the podium without ADR and getting seated shortly after although sometimes had to be seated in bar area.

Enjoy your trip :goodvibes

Another vote for the Captain's Grill. We have had some very nice meals here. It's not the fanciest place but the food was good. Another alternative if you can't get into the Yatchman Steakhouse is the Crew Cup lounge. It is a limited menu of the Steakhouse. Quite yummy!! :)
