Please tell me what is your favorite resort counter service and what is your favorite thing to order there. Thank you

I've had food at CSR (7 years ago and don't remember anything).

Poly '09, Captain Cooks, only bought rice crispie treats and pineapple dole whip and cashier was rude/ignorant/whatever. Drink refill station swarming with gnats and smelled dirty/sugary.

CSR Contempo Cafe-Hot roast beef sandwich, not great, had canned salty gravy but really good chips. Kids had kid pizza which was too small for them (6 yo). It definitely beat Captain Cooks, but wasn't fabulous.

This is a tough question to answer. Since 2006, I have stayed at All-star Music, Wilderness Lodge, Saratoga Springs and Beach Club Villas. I'll tell you a secret: I think I ate the same sandwich at each resort. At one resort the sandwich had ham, at another it was beef. Throw some turkey in there.

Although each resort may offer a unique item that fits its theme, you will find that the menu is rather homogeneous. Burger, chicken strips, breakfast platters... all are the same.

The value resorts and moderates offer more choices than the deluxe resorts. The counter service food courts are bigger to handle the sheer numbers staying at those resorts.

The food court at Pop Century is one of the reasons we love to return. IMO it is by far the best CS location of all of the resorts. There are just so many more options there than anywhere else including quite a few options that are not typical fast food fare.

That being said, Poly's Captain Cook's does serve Tonga Toast and Dole Whips.

Port Orleans Riverside food court is my all around favorite. I love their build your own pasta bowl. You can choose either chicken or shrimp, then pick your sauce (marniara, alfredo or pesto), then a variety of other toppings like bacon, veggies, cheese etc. Its huge and easily shared.

I love all the mod and value food courts, but POR is my favorite.

I also enjoy Captain Cooks at the Poly and Artist Palette at SSR. Those are both a bit more gourmet but have nowhere near the selection (understandably so) as a food court.

We've stayed at WL on our last 3 trips and really like Roaring Forks...

BUT after trying Captain Cook's on our last trip, I have to give the nod to them. Not only do they have Tonga Toast for breakfast, but their lunch/dinner is soooo good! I LOVE the adult grilled cheese and DH likes the Hawaiian Pork Sandwich. The chips they come with are yummy! The flatbreads look good too. You also can hand Dole Whip for dessert...who wouldn't want that?! Nomnomnom!!

Looking fwd to having lunch at Capt Cooks, Mara and maybe Roaring Forks just to get away from the parks a little into a more relaxed atmospehere..Then go back to the parks..LOL

I agree with the above post about Capt. Cook's. The Tonga Toast is very good! I tried both the cheese flat bread and the adult grilled cheese this past February and was very pleased with both of my meals. I love that you can get Dole Whip there, too! Yum!

We also tried Roaring Fork a few times this past trip.. Breakfast and dinner. We definitely preferred breakfast to dinner, but everyone has different tastes. One thing we just didn't care for with Roaring Fork was the limited seating. The food in general was fine, though.

I love the POP foodcourt as well - so much selection! I really enjoy the Shrimp Lo Mein as well as the flatbreads.

Speaking of flatbreads I had one at The Mara while I was staying at Jambo last month - it was delicious!!

The Pepper Market at Coronado Springs Resort is certainly the most unique foodcourt in all of Disney. Because of how unique it is, many people LOVE it, and many people HATE it. You won't find too many people in the middle. We love it.

Pepper market, while not a standard counter service, is my absolute favorite resort CS.

Mara for me. I love all the food I have tried there and they have really good vanilla cupcakes.:lovestruc

Ditto for me. For the choices, it is hands down, my favorite. Love the make your own salad bar too.

Yeah, I forgot to mention how much I love the food at Pepper Market. My only complaint with that one is the 10% gratuity and the fact they took that wet burrito off the menu! I agree, its a love it or hate it sort of place, that I love.

Missytara, the build your own salad at the POR is also wonderful. I'g get one of those, dh would get the pasta and we'd share the two with our dd and almost finish them!

I'm going to go with POR. Loved the pasta!! It was awesome, delicious, fresh, and you get to choose everything that goes into it. Actually, everything at the POR food court was good. I had no complaints. Stayed at SSR last year and didn't like it nearly as much. It was okay, but didn't have nearly as many options.

Yes, I love SSR and I enjoy Artist Palette (in fact its a favorite of mine) but it cannot compare in selection to POR's food court. But then no deluxe whether you are talking about a DVC or otherwise, has a cs place that can rival a value or moderate food court.

One of the reasons we enjoy staying at the mods and values over the deluxe's, better cs options!

This is exactly what I was going to say! Such a great selection, and everything that I've tried has been delicious! My DH actually requests that I plan at least one meal there so that he can get one of the flatbreads!

Another vote for POR! We love the pasta bar as well - especially the fact that it's cooked to order. It is served with what they call a breadstick but I'd call a piece of garlic bread. We liked the bread so much, we've been known to get an order of it with marinara sauce for a snack. The kids always choose between chicken fingers, burgers, etc so it's nice to have something that feels more like a home-cooked meal. They also have some fancier sandwiches that DH likes. The bakery has some great dessert options plus there's hand-dipped ice cream & milkshakes!

We enjoyed POP Century's food quit a bit and ended up eating one meal a day there! I'm so glad to hear the great things about POR, we'll be there soon!
