Best resort character dining?

I'm helping a family plan their first Disney trip - they just adopted three sisters (8, 6 and 5) and have an infant foster child, so I want to help make it really great for them. She's overwhelmed by all the choices and info, so I offered to do the planning for her.

I'm not as familiar with the character dining, and I'm wondering if anyone can tell me about the resort character dining. The girls love the Princesses, of course. What characters are at the resorts? I'm trying to pick one for one of their 'non-park' days.

Lilo and Stitch at Poly ohana
Hatter, Alice, Mary Poppins, Tigger and Pooh at GF 1900 PF
Rapunzel and someone else at Trattoria al Forno (Boardwalk?)
Minnie and friends at Beach Club.

I think that's all I know of resort characters.

1900 Park Fair at the Grand Floridian has Cinderella and her stepsisters at dinner, Mary Poppins and Alice for breakfast.

There's a new character breakfast on the boardwalk with Ariel and Rapunzel, Prince Eric and Flynn. It's new so reservations are harder to get.

My favorite resort characters are at Ohana. Lilo, Stitch, and Mickey in a Hawaiian shirt. Breakfast only.

Chef Mickey's in the contemporary has Mickey, Minnie, Donald, goofy, and Pluto all day. Some of them are dressed like chefs.

Cape May is in the beach club and has Minnie, Donald and goofy in beach wear. Breakfast for sure, I think lunch. Not dinner.

There's Mickey's backyard BBQ, in the evening a few nights a week. I haven't been there yet, but I hear there's dancing and stuff. Sounds like a lot of fun for families (but not so much for solo traveler me)

Cape May for Breakfast is our top choice- we do a later breakfast say 10ish. Lilo & Stitich at Poly is nice because it's family style

When our girls were small they liked the tea party with Alice at the GF. In the park, the princess meal in Norway was a big hit.

I highly recommend 1900 PF dinner.

We are looking forward to trying Bon Voyage at Trattoria in a week!

We've done many (but not Trattoria) and Cape May is by far our favorite!

When considering character meals we take into consideration food quality and character interaction. 1900 is our favorite for both. I haven't tried Cape May but have heard good things. We stopped eating at Chef Mickey's as we thought that the food quality went downhill, but if the kids really want to see Mickey this is an option. I have read mixed reviews about the new Trattoria restaurant.

Ohana has always been our favorite for food and atmosphere. There aren't any princesses there (if I was doing Princesses not in the park I'd go for Tratorria first choice). We've always had good interaction at Ohana and I like the fact that the breakfast isn't buffet yet it has something that all of us like.

Princesses at the resorts are hard to come by; however, I echo that 1900 Park Fare is likely the best of the character meals at a resort. We've been several times for all meals, and the interaction is consistently excellent, plus the food is above average for a buffet.

Another vote for 1900 Park Fare... we have had both the Dinner (Cinderella) and Lunch (Alice).. prefer Dinner but not because of Cinderella or Prince Charming but because of the step sisters.. they are a HOOT! food aint bad either!

Best character interaction BAR NONE is 1900 Park Fare breakfast! Food is delicious too. Just ate there this past week and Mad Hatter totally photobombed my daughter's selfie.

We like 1900 Parkfare. It was a little more relaxed than other character breakfasts in my opinion, likely because it was Alice and Mary Poppins and not the big stars. The food was great too even for picky eaters.

We really love Cape May Cafe for breakfast - the characters are great and in their beach outfits. We also love Akershus for breakfast - the princess interactions are always great and we love the cold buffet and the hot foods that are brought to the table.
