On our last day we have time for a nice, leisurely breakfast. Since we don't have park tickets for the day, we'll have to dine elsewhere. Where would you suggest for variety, good food, nice atmosphere where we won't be rushed?

Last time I ate at Cape May Cafe (been 5 years) they had great crepes but I don't see them on the menu now. Does any resort offer those?

Like resorts, best is a matter of personal opinion, taste, preferences, likes/dislikes, etc.

However, I would have to say our personal favorite resort breakfast is:

No characters -- Boma (the juice alone is good enough reason to go, and then we walk around and see the animals)

Characters -- Cape May Cafe (I don't know about the crepes, but we love the character interaction and we have found the food to be very good and a nice variety)

Our favorite breakfast is definitely the Kona Cafe at the Polynesian.

Boma has a nice selection including carved meats. I also like Kona Cafe, I tried the Kona pressed pot coffee-it was excellent :thumbsup2

If you had a multiday ticket for your stay, an extra day can be a minimul cost...just a few $ per person, so if you wanted to head to a restaurant at a park, it is doable. Are you staying at a deulxe and can do room service?

Cape May has a great character buffet; it's our "last day" tradition to go there.

We used to love Spoodles (R.I.P) because the food was great & the Boardwalk is a nice place to enjoy a second cup of coffee after breakfast. Haven't been to Kouzzina for breakfast yet but I've read good reviews!

Boma, Kona, and 'Ohana have the best breakfasts! Can't go wrong with either of those.

Cape May has always been my favorite buffet breakfast. I was there last year and there were no crepes - but they do have Mickey waffles and lots of other yummy foods plus lox and bagels (DH likes this).

The menu for Kouzinna (in same area) looks wonderful for a sit-down breakfast. I have never been, but we are trying it on our trip this year. The pancakes look very yummy....

We like Boma and Cape May. The Wave was our least favorite; the food was quite bland and there were not many choices.

Since we are staying at Dolphin we plan to dine at Cat Cora's BW restaurant so we can enjoy the boardwalk at night.

I would most enjoy just hanging around the boardwalk with a cup of coffee, would it be enjoyable for my 15yo DD? Eg are all the shops open at 9 am, etc. as we have to leave for the airport by 11.

I think there is enough for your DD to do for an hour or so. There aren't a lot of shops but there are a few (hotel gift shop/general store, the candy shop, resort shops at BC & YC) and you can always take a stroll around the whole Boardwalk or rent a surrey bike to pass a bit of the time.
