Best resort at Christmas Time?

Which resort would say is the most festive to stay at during the holidays?

I knew you all would know!

One of my favorite things to do during the Christmas holiday is to resort hop and check out different decorations at the hotels. My favorite hotel for Christmas is Animal Kingdom Lodge. They have a HUGE Christmas tree in the lobby decorated with African animals as ornaments. They also sometimes have a impromptu cooking session with drinks in the lobby. I was entering the lobby one day and happened to catch Cast Members rolling a table into the corner near Zawadi. One of the chefs from Boma was there making some sort of soup that smelled amazing and was very delicious. They gave free samples to anyone who came up to them. They also had a small glass of sparkling wine for the adults and apple juice for kids. It just made the holiday season seem very special.

But two other resorts that are also pretty great are the Grand Floridian and Boardwalk Inn. The Grand Floridian has a stunning gingerbread house where they sell baked goods such as gingerbread and sugar cookies. The entire lobby smells like gingerbread and is definitely worth taking several pictures. The Boardwalk Inn also has a large Christmas tree and a much smaller gingerbread house with a train that drives around it. It's very cute.

I second the WL!! But I love warm, wintery mountain type Christmases with a fire in the fire place. So WL is my favorite for that time of year

There are LOTS of good options.
My favorites are WL & AKL.
Of course GF(Gingerbread House) & PR are nice, as is Dolphin& sister Swan.
I think in my mind I associate C'mas and the Holidays w/ cold weather, so the WL seems more like a cold weather resort, if that makes any sense?

You have to do the tour and see which one makes you feel best!

I have only stayed at SSR in 07 during the holiday season....the weather was beautiful, decor was minimal but delightful!

Looking forward to visiting some resorts this year, as well as checking out POR & FQ while I am there....especially AKL...Jambo and Kidani

We are planning on staying at the WL for our trip in December 2010. It is our favorite resort so far. It just feels the most Christmas-y to me b/c of the log cabin feel.

I agree that the WL is the best resort, followed by GF. I also think AKL is setup really nice for Christmas. There are a bunch of nice spots at AKL for photos next to the beautifully decorated trees.

We stayed at Poly/BC last time but to be honest neither felt very Christmasy but of course that makes sense - that is not their theming. BC does have a fabulous gingerbread carousel in the lobby, and Santa and Mickey and Minnie did visit on Christmas Eve for pics Í don't remember anything else going on. Although many have mentioned GF, don't really remember getting that real Christmas feel although we were just there for breakfast at 1900 PF. We did really did feel that WL was very Christmasy and that is why this year we are going to WC for dinner Christmas Day. We did not visit AKL last trip although are staying there this trip.

Wilderness Lodge First, Grand Floridian second. Wilderness Lodge was built to be decorated for Christmas. Nothing compares to the lobby, the only thing they'll never have is a foot of snow outside the windows....

Grand Floridian is cool too. GF is a great walking tour for us. It's like a showroom that your not supposed to touch. The WL just feels like a cozy home away from home.

Just sign up on a photo sharing website like www.photobucket.com (it's free)and download your photos you want to share. Then right click on the bottom link of the photo you are wanting to post (and click copy). Then return to the post where you want the picture to be and right click and then click paste. Your picture should be there after you close out of the post and come back to view it.

Thank you so much for the link! These pics are beautiful. Does anyone else have a favorite? I think we are leaning toward wilderness lodge. Just trying to decide when to go. Dd will be 6 in 2010 and 7 in 2011. I want her to still have that xmas magic in her when we go!

I am doing a split stay this year in December. I am staying at GF and AKL.

I like GF the best. They have the band playing christmas music, and the men serving warm chestnuts out front too.
