Best rental car company in MCO

Ok I joined National's emerald club. I booked a midsize and it says go pick out whatever I want. What do you need to book if you want an SUV? Are all the cars in the midsize aisle tiny sedans?

If you want an SUV you need to specifically book an SUV. Yes, sometimes small SUVs are in the midsize aisle but they are mostly sedans.

Robin is correct. The Emerald Aisle is intermediate (I think) and above. Sometimes there may be SUV's there, but definitely no guarantee. As she said, if you really need an SUV, that's what you should book.

As to the original question, it seems like most of the onsite agencies have ways of avoiding the counter. In most cases, you should signup for their loyalty program and do online checkin a day or so before you go. Personally, I try to use Alamo, but have recently had good success with Budget and Dollar.

I personally choose a company that is (1) onsite at the airport and then (2) the lowest price. Sure, I enjoy picking out a car from National or Alamo v/s being assigned a car from Hertz. But the small amount of fun I get out of picking out my car is really not worth more than $10 or so for me. If another company has a better price I'll go with them because in my mind they are all the same. All of the companies have well maintained cars and locations near WDW if I need to swap the car for some reason.

Would I book from one of the offsite companies? Probably if the price was right. I booked from Thrifty when it was offsite and it was fine.

Ok so I took the advice here and joined the National Emerald Aisle.. best rental car experience ever!

I agree that Emerald Aisle is the BEST!!! i've used others from time to time.....just found out the hard way...i'll never use Avis again.....rude and they will NOT get a manager even though you ask for one......
