Hi -

I've been reading some of the postings regarding strollers.

I'm thinking we need to bring a stroller so we can travel from bus (or car) to the park entrances and around the resort, DTD, etc. We will have a 2yr, 4yr, 6yr, and 8 yr old with us - I'm wondering too if we may also need to rent and additional stroller for the 4yr old to hitch a ride on?

Can anyone recommend a good reclining compact stroller? One that would easily fold to be carried on the bus if we decide to use it.

Thanks in advance. I'm looking foward to picking your brains! I've just joined this morning and in the very beginning stages of planning our December 2006 trip. :wave2:

Combi Savvy Soho

Folds down small and most Targets carry it,sells for about $70 there. It even has a strap to carry it.

I second the Combi recommendation.
We have a Combi City Savvy:

We purchased our's at Babies R Us for about $90. It's very similar to the Savvy Soho. Our's has full recline, a decent basket underneath, super easy to fold up, and its very lightweight. :flower:

By the way: Combi has all these crazy different names for strollers that all look pretty much alike. I just noticed on the Target website that most Combis on there say partial recline. :confused3 So make sure before you get one if you really need that feature. I know our's goes all the way down. When we bought it, it was called a City Savvy...now BRU is calling it a Savvy Soho. I'm confused :)

Welcome to the DIS ! A lot more $$, but as an "Oma" I can finally afford it - I love my new Maclaren Techno Classic - Opa loves the adjustable handles as he's very tall. Just got back from a trip to WDW and USF with 2yo DGrD who is big for her age and she was extremely comfortable - she napped in the stroller at least once a day! PS: the rayshade I bought from BRUS worked great - best thing we took along ! - pulled it down over the stroller when she napped to create a cool, dark space and it also kept her out of the hot sun (and drizzly rain) - check it out. Here's a link to the stroller http://www.maclarenbaby.com/US/pages/technoclassic.html - and one to the rayshade http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/t...bbs_b_2_1/103-5685307-9770266?v=glance&s=baby

I loved my Iglesina stoller. i took it last November. It was super light, it reclines, has a basket and was soooo compact, it looks like a little umbrella stoller but is sooo much more. It's a $100.

The Silver cross Mini is a great compact stroller that has a recline but not full. The wheels are just a little bit bigger than other compact strollers so the pushing is easier on bumpy terain (like AK's paths) It fold very easily, is light and has a handle on the side to carry it. It is about $120, with some sales now at around $100. It was brought out to compete with the MacLaren, and does it very well. It is not as tippy as the Maclaren and has all the features.

Just wanted to give you a 'cheapo' option

We took, and were very happy with, second stroller, a Graco Umbroller. They sell for 34.99 at Walmart right now, although we got ours a few years back on clearance at Target. The other strollers people are mentioning im sure are much nicer, but this stroller is a good value for the price. It reclines ALMOST completely, has a sunshade, drink holder, basket, and it folds down easily. It weighs 11 lbs, so it was awesome getting on and off the bus and doesnt take up much room in the trunk.

The ONLY drawback we have to this stroller is that when you recline the stroller, the distance from the seat bottom to where the head lies is not very long, and so he is at the point right now where his head does touch the fabric when he lies down. He is still very comfortable and slept in it every day at the parks this month.

Personally, I would probably consider buying a 10$ umbrella stroller for the 4 year old. They will use it when they get tired, but it would be much cheaper than renting each day.

Thanks for the advice! I'm going to do some research on each one of the strollers and see what looks best to me. I'm thinking I'd rather bring the stroller (or strollers) than rent.

I appreciate everyone's willingness to share their expertise and experience. :)
