Best rate you've ever gotten for Poly?

Hi guys:

DH absolutely fell in love with the Poly when we went to the luau this past September. I would LOVE to surprise him with a short trip this November for our 15th Anniversary. I can see that cheapest rack rate is $299. What rate has anyone gotten with AP codes, or discount codes in the past?? I love my hubby dearly, but don't think I can swing $299/night for one room!

Well, ten years ago I got a great discounted rate....

Seriously, the best discount will probably be an AP discount. They tend to be in the 45% - 50% range.

My first choice for researching rates/discounts is the MouseSavers website.

The Polynesian is our first choice also.

We paid $357 per night for LV Concierge in May 2002. That was an AP rate including tax. AAA Discounts range from 10% to 15% off rack rate depending on the season. I agree with Bstanley, check mousesavers for more information. Good luck.

AAA rates were $255 and AP rates were $170 at the Polynesian this past Nov. Please be aware that even if AP rates are released that you are not guaranteed getting a room at that rate. Only so many are available, and they went very quick this past Nov!! Good luck to you getting a good rate. Hope you can surprise your DH with a surprise stay on your 15th anniv!

Wow...thanks for the quick replies! At least now I have an idea about some discount rates....even though I know there's no guarantee. Wouldn't it be nice if Disney decided to do the FTP again this year?? Susie...I would sure love to get that $170 rate if it ever came around again {fingers crossed}!

OUr best rate was with an AP rate over Christmas(the most expensive time of the year, go figure). We check in 12/24, and out 12/29. Our rate was 170.00, which was 189.55 including tax.
Our next best was in September of 2001, using a general "code" when we got it for 179.00. With tax it was about 200.00.

To me at these rates the Poly is well worth it. However as much as I love it there I never could pay $300.00-500.00/night for it.

$29/nite....That was 1971....Oh wait, my dad paid that, not me.

My honeymoon in 1986: $2200.....7 nites, Lagoon View, Grand Plan, (All meals included), LOS passes...For 2!!!....Included airfare....

This probably doesn't help much.

$99 dollars a night last year when the CBR was rehabed they had to ship us to the Poly. We stayed for 11 nights and that was the cheapest vacation of all time and also one of the best. POLY RULES BABY.

Best rate at Polynesian $99.00 a night, Florida Residents Special from the 80's through the 90's I don't beleive we will ever see that discount again...

In Aug of 2001...$235 FL resident rate for GV Concierge, but they gave us a comp ugrade (I didn't even ask for one) to a LV.
