I'm a new AP member this year, and soooooooooo of course I'm thinking about taking advantage of any great AP rates that come out for the DLR hotels.

Just to get an idea past deals, I was wondering what's the best/lowest AP rate you got for the GCH (and the other DLR hotels too)?

Or, are there better rates/discounts to be had that I don't know about?

We've never stayed at the GCH before in all the times we've been to DL, but we dream about being able to do it. If some super-dee-dooper-great AP rate comes out, I'm thinking about secretly booking it to surprise my family. :ssst: ;)

Right now it is running about $309 per night for standard view. I saw that it goes down to the mid 200's later in the month. Sadly, I think that is as low as it could get. PPH comes in around $179 and DLH is usually around $200. The rates are lower than normal rates, but you pay for the experience and the ambiance. We have stayed at hotels across the street before, but then we stayed on site, and the difference is amazing. I know that you only cross one street to get to the good neighbor hotels, but the magic ends at the crosswalk.:wizard:

We paid very low 200's for two rooms with the Senior discount in Oct. It's 30% off rack rate and the senior has to be 60 or older, not 55. You can get up to 2 rooms at this rate. We like to travel with the GPs so have done this a few times. Our rooms were overlooking the Monorail Courtyard.

Oooh, that's a great discount! As great as it is though, I just traveled to WDW with my mom-in-law last December, and don't expect to make a repeat trip with her for a very, very long time. So, no senior rate for us.:goodvibes

We stayed at the Grand during the week in Mid December last year, and paid $249 a night. The rate was for a standard view. We got a great location with a Courtyard view facing the monorail.

We are going back in late May, and are paying $333 for Thursday night and $383 for Friday night (right before Memorial day weekend). We are splurging though, cause it's our 10th anniversary.

A few years ago we got a $199 rate, but that was in October before the Halloween decorations and parties began. Haven't seen it go that low now that October is busier.

I think 249 was as low as it got...wouldn't expect lower. Sadly :( But GCH is totally worth it! :)

We paid $228 a night for a standard in January and it was an offer available to the general public, not via an AP discount. The offer was less expensive than the AP rates they were running at the time. :thumbsup2
