Best rate for DD hotel?

We are considering an unexpected budget trip the first week of May. What's the best way to research the lowest cost per night at one of the resorts on Hotel Plaza Blvd, across from DD.

Lat year 12/27/03, I got Courtyard at DTD(its now Holiday Inn) for $40 on priceline for one night before I checked into Swan. I asked for 3 star in DTD area. It was fine for the night. It showed its age, but very convenient and maybe HI did some upgrading.

If you consider using priceline, its going to be hard bidding for a 3* and being certain that you'll get a DD Hotel. If you bump up to bidding on a resort, you can probably fish for the Hilton, or the Wyndam, since the lower bids usually get accepted by these 2 resorts. Just remember that there is no guarantee. If you don't necessarily care about being in the DD area, just fairly close by, I think that the Sheraton Safari comes up under 3*, and it is just out of the DD entrance and down to the next block. If you consider doing the priceline thing be sure to check out www.biddingfortravel.com . Be sure and do your homework before asking any questions as it is not as friendly of a board as the DIS. Best of luck, hope you can find something that you are looking for.

I usually find that looking at the hotel's individual site usually gives you a better deal. JMHO

SkyAuction just about always has the DoubleTree @ DD. I have provided a link but make sure you read all the fine print if you decide to bid as there are some seasonal surcharges, etc:

That particular Doubletree used to come up on hotwire for around $4?.00, which I think would be cheaper than skyauction. check out www.betterbidding.com and find what the icons are for the doubletree, it might be more of a sure thing than priceline. Also check the home page of the DIS, several DD hotels advertise on the DIS homepage.
