Best Rate At Gf?

What is the best rate you have gotten for a stay at the grand floridian, i am planning a trip to celebrate my 5th anniversary in Dec. 09 i know it's still far away but any tips will help even if i have to go on a different date, also do you book directly with wdw reservations for best rates?

Whether you book with Disney directly or with a TA, you should be given the exact same rate unless you book with AAA. Here is a link to the current rack rates at the GF: http://www.mousesavers.com/grandfloridian2009.html. It looks like your dates are during one of the lowest times. Of course, if Disney puts out a discount, then the rate could go down. There is also the possibility of Annual Passholder Discounts and FL Resident Discounts if you happen to have either one.

Looking back on this year, I believe, and I could be wrong that the first two weeks of December were blacked out of every discount that came along. Your chances for a discount might be better in November or after December 13. Things could be different in 2009. I'm just basing this on what happened this year.

If you are booked with a TA, most (not usually AAA) will watch for discounts and try to get them for you. If you book on your own, you will have to watch for those discounts yourself.

We will be arriving at the GF next Sunday and were able to get a rate of $261 per night with a PIN code.

A Pin Code is sent to you personally by Disney in the form of an email or post card. Unfortunately, not everyone gets one. It's usually for a percentage off or free dining or something like that. I never had by my Father who has not been to Disney since 1990 gets them all the time. If you get one, you will have to call Disney or your TA if you use one and ask them to try and have the Pin Code applied to your reservation. The Pin Codes are usually date specific.

best rate I ever got was $209 with a convention rate in '99. This time with a PIN code it's $417 with tax.

I had a rate in September of $240 per night with a 40% pin code! Just called the 800# and asked if they had any codes attached to my name and voila I ended up cancelling the booking and have booked a cruise instead, much cheaper
