Where do you think the best princess meal/interaction with characters is: Akershus, 1900 Park Fare, or Cinderellas Royal Table ?

Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner?

We have not done Akershus, but we have done 1900 Park Fare and CRT. I think CRT is something that must be done at least once if you have a daughter who loves princesses! We took our older two 4 years ago for dinner, but our youngest was a baby and we left her with the grandparents. On our trip in May we will be taking all three girls to the castle for breakfast. This will probably be the last time until we have grandchildren! It's very expensive, but it's an amazing experience and memory. And they do give you pictures, which is nice.

I would choose breakfast if you are not on the dining plan. If you are, then decide which time of day you would prefer based on your touring plan for that day. Good luck with your decision!

We have done all three and we like Akerhaus the best, actually that is the only one we have done twice and will do it again this summer, but are going to try Dinner this time. It has a really nice castle feel to the inside without the CRT price, you get a picture there also, one time it was with Belle and the other time Aurora. We did CRT for dinner and none of us really liked the food, we might try breakfast one of these days, my DD just LOVED eating in the Castle-which is a memorable experience....if your little one is pretty young I would hold off since it is so $$$$. The Park Fair has different characters and is kind of nice if you want to see the prince, but it is in just a large plain ballroom, not castle like at all...it would probably be our last choice.

Have a great time whatever you pick.

Our favorite Princess meals are Akershus Breakfast and CRT dinner. We love Akershus because for one we always make an ADR for before the park opens. Second is because we love both the cold buffet and the hot plate that comes to your table. The Princess interaction is really good there as well, plus I love to see Belle (my favorite Princess) in her yellow dress. We love CRT dinner because we love eating in the castle as it is getting to be dusk out, and the food is really good there. The princess interaction is also great even though I like Akershus' interaction a bit more. We did 1900 Park Fare dinner once and that was enough, we much more prefer breakfast there.

We love Akershus for breakfast. Food is very good and princess interaction is (in our opinion) much better than that at CRT

1900 PF is great for dinner, however you only get one princess vs 5 at Akershus. Although the prince is a big draw for our DD

In both cases I recommend the earliest reservation possible. We usually do PF at 4:30 - everyone is fresh and they haven't had a chance to fall behind in seating/ tables. Characters are not rushed at that point.

We've eaten lunch at CRT twice - worth doing once - but really not impressive (or worth the $$) either time. Did it once just to try it out and did it the 2nd time for DD's birthday trip. Won't go back again.

Have fun!

As far as food goes I'm unimpressed by the whole lot of them, though to be fair my last visit to 1900 Park Fare was way back before they changed the menu and added the stepsisters.

I enjoy the 'Major Domo' at CRT well enough, but the hurried pace of the service and character interaction along with the price/2 credit DDP status keep it from getting the top spot in my mind. To me, CRT is an "experience" meal - fun to do once or when traveling with first-timers in the party, but not something I have any desire to make a tradition out of or otherwise revisit frequently.

I'd rank Akershus as the best. We have only been there for breakfast but the cold buffet offered enough options for the non-breakfast-food eaters in my family, the included photo package for a single DDP credit makes it a better value than CRT or 1900PF, and we experienced better, less rushed character interaction there than at either of the others.

We went to Akershus and 1900 Park Faire for dinner, both were awesome and we had lots of character interaction. DS and I went and he received so much special attention, Cinderella even waltzed with him:lovestruc

We had breakfast at Akershaus in May of 2010 and loved it. Princesses spent fair amount of time with my daughter and the photo was a nice bonus. The food was pretty decent, too. We're going to try CRT for dinner during our upcoming trip in June. I've have heard it's something you should try at least once while visiting WDW.

Great!

Right now Dd is really into Belle. It may change by our trip though but seems like Akershaus is a good choice. I think we will hold off on CRT till she is about 5 or so.

We really like Akershus and plan twice each trip. The food is great and the princess interaction is more interactive than other choices.

I haven't done CRT at all but I've been to Akershus for breakfast and dinner and 1900 PF for dinner. Akershus is one of my faves and I prefer the dinner solely because I'm not really a breakfast eater. I'm good with a granola bar or bowl of cereal, lol. I REALLY liked the Traditional Kjottkaker meal that Akershus has for both lunch and dinner. :goodvibes The princess interaction was great too!

We've done CRT for lunch and dinner and Akershus for lunch and dinner. CRT lunch was much better than CRT dinner- but that all boiled down to timing of the respective trips, our server, and where we were seated. Akershus dinner was better than Akershus lunch, but that was mainly b/c we showed up at a good time in the princess rotation when we did dinner. The actual princess interaction was pretty equal as well- i.e. the princesses on rotation in both dining rooms were about the same and we've had one really good Belle in Norway, one really good Cindy at CRT, one mediocre Belle at Norway and also one mediocre Cindy at CRT. At CRT you get to do the wishing ceremony and the princesses have their nice introductions- at Akershus, you have the princess parade around the place. The lunch food we had at CRT trumped the lunch food at Akershus, but Akershus dinner was significantly better than CRT dinner food- and the cold buffet at Akershus was good at both meals.

So clearly- everything above shows the two pretty much neck and neck. Akershus is cheaper and the better bang for the dining plan credit (personally, I'd pay OOP for CRT unless you are on Deluxe DDP), but I will say this...if you've never done either - being inside the castle wins any day over Akershus.

With that being said- we've only done 1900PF for breakfast, but the atmosphere at CRT and Akershus are both significantly better and much more princessy than 1900PF.

So, if it were me and I've never done any of them and budget is not an issue- CRT is the must do. We really liked the break for lunch even if we're not big on WDW lunch, but a pre-park opening slot at CRT would be pretty great.

but I will say this...if you've never done either - being inside the castle wins any day over Akershus.

Bingo.

My dd's been to WDW once, when she was five years old.

On that trip, we did Akershus lunch and CRT lunch. Back then she still liked princesses.

Now at age almost-eight, she doesn't like princesses. She's all about Jack Sparrow and pirates and scorns any princess talk.

All that said... we were talking about Disney World the other day. She has no idea she's got a birthday trip coming up in January, but we were reminiscing. And she talked about how cool it was eating in the castle. Then she said that next time we go, she would like to have breakfast there. Could have knocked me over with a feather! She wants to eat there despite the princesses, just because she loved the castle so much. :lmao:

Being inside that castle made a huge impression. Honestly I loved it, too. Just the atmosphere.

I also liked my food much better at CRT lunch rather than Akershus lunch.

Finally, I got MUCH better pictures inside the castle as opposed to Akershus. Though part of that is we got lucky being seated right next to a window at CRT. But there was a lot more light in CRT.

For comparison's sake:

We've done all 3 and you can't go wrong with any of them. Just so you know, if Belle is what you're looking for, the interaction at Akershus will be limited to the picture with Belle prior to seating. She does not typically walk around to the tables there.

Akershus breakfast is the best character meal around...The princesses take their time with every table...no rushing at all......the food was delicious too...we are going back in May...our grandkids loved it

Have you ever done the one at Magic Kingdom? We did that one last year and it was just ok. I was wondering if you had, because we were thinking about doing the one at Epcot instead. I was looking for someone who had done both to see which one people thought was the best.

CRT is a pain to make a reservation for. It is much easier to get into the others, but I love being inside the castle, looking out the window, wonderful!
