Is the tea at the GF worth it?

I have a trip planned with my DS this summer. I was thinking perhaps of adding a special something on a resort day with my DD to "make up for it" in a way. I am not talking about from a food perspective but for the EXPERIENCE of it.

$250 is a big price tag. Is it worth it or is there something better?

How old is your DD? It's my understanding that the tea is wonderful but skews very young.

She'll be 5 (and 3/4 ;) ) when we go. I looked into BBB but that's just not her. We are doing Pirate League as well but so is her brother. Perhaps the Mermaid treatment there? I was just thinking this would be just the two of us kind of thing.

That sounds like the perfect age for the Princess Tea at GF. I've read that you don't want to go there when they are too young because it takes a bit of an attention span to get the most out of it.

I've been twice with my 3 granddaughters and wow what a great experience both times. They loved the dolls and gifts ect. Loved the storytelling by Rose petal. Loved visiting and dancing around the room with Sleeping beauty and they loved their own little girlie sized tea pot, their yummy goodies and sandwiches and the princess cake was a huge hit as well. All the girls posed for pictures upstairs with a photo pass photographer and the headed to the gift shop to name their new dolls. It is a lovely experience and fondly remembered as a very special event : )

We've done CRT, Akershus, and the Grand Floridian Tea. The Tea with Sleeping Beauty is by far the most elaborate princess experience of the 3. It lasts the longest, it comes with most stuff (:thumbsup2), and it has the most pomp and circumstance.

If you have a little princess and can afford it, I recommend doing it once. I remember there was a crowning ceremony (my princess was called "Princess Audrey of the Ivy"), and then the girls get a charm bracelet with a pink crystal heart, and of course the Sleeping Beauty doll. "Rose Petal" is the star of the show, and she was fantastic. I remember my daughter dancing around the room with her - so sweet!

BTW: I was just asking my daughter about it. She was 5 then and is 12 now, and she still remembers a lot about it. She also remembers CRT from that first trip. She liked them both, but thought she liked the tea better. She also recommends the 1900 Park Fare dinner with Cinderella and the stepsisters. :wizard:

Thank you everyone! I do appreciate all the input. I sure hope the reservation is still available!
