Best Princess Breakfast

For a toddler who adores Princesses but is NOT A FAN of large costumed characters? I'm hoping by April she will be a little better about it but as of now she's going to be scared of Mickey etc. I will probably make an ADR for another character meal and send the rest of the family to enjoy if she's not over it. But right now my priority is making sure my Princess gets a stress free Princess meal! Any thoughts or suggestions?

Your choices are Akershus and Cinderella's Royal Table. Akershus is cheaper (1 credit vs 2, if on the DDP). CRT has the advantage of being in the castle, and it is a plated meal. At Akershus, they will bring a large platter of hot items (eggs, meat, potatoes) and you can help yourself to the items on the cold buffet (deli meats, cheeses, bagels, croissants, muffins, donut holes, yogurt, and fruit).

Our 3 1/2 year old granddaughters loved CRT for breakfast. They saw Cinderella downstairs before going up the stairs, Jasmine, Aurora, and Snow White (I believe). Eating in the castle was a definite memory the girls watch on video regularly and they talk about it all the time.

We LOVE Akershus for breakfast. We had breakfast there for the second time last Wednesday morning and we had my 17 month old niece with us. We got to meet Belle in her yellow dress in the foyer, and Cinderella, Snow White, Ariel and Aurora came to the table. My niece loved it and we all loved it even more than the first time. The princesses were great and the food was so good. We were done just after the park opened and walked right on FEA - it was so nice to not rush through a meal (as so many people are doing nowadays to get on the ride). We did CRT for breakfast last year and we really disliked it. For the price, it was not worth it for us - oop or DDP. Akershus will always be our go to princess breakfast.

The last few times I went to ackershers I felt rushed by the princesses ,don't let them rush you ,engage with them so they have to stay at your table

I was definitely planning to do this PPO but we are going over Easter week and it was brought to my attention that the park hours will likely be extended or there will be EMH so that a PPO isn't possible. NOW I'm thinking if we do Akershus to try FEA first THEN have breakfast. But for some reason my husband, of all people, wants to eat in the castle. My daughter doesn't even know that's a possibility. I wonder if at almost 3 she would even notice a difference of eating in the castle or not. I know I'm not alone but this trying to plan ADRs with zero knowledge on park hours and fastpass+ is nerve wracking! I don't want to make the "Wrong" choice!

Akershus is definitely a castle. It's just a different castle.

Norwegians didn't have the luxury of spires like spun-sugar. It's more medieval.

ok sorry, castle to me means THE CASTLE means Cinderella castle. I still can't even get a handle on Beasts castle even though that's MY favorite movie/princess and I NEED to go there. ETA I know Belle isn't there though

I went to both when I was very young and I have always preferred Akershus, but look into both and see what fits her better!

I like Akershus too because it's only one dining credit and I love all the smoked fish and Norwegian food at breakfast. Weird, I know.
i also find buffet is easier at breakfast.

My family has done both breakfasts. I found the princess interaction at Akershus slightly better (more interactive/attentive and they do the parade with the girls through the restaurant). Food was good at both. Something to consider is that Akershus has a buffet element, so if you have a picky eater they should hopefully find something to fill up on there. CRT you just get a plated meal so you run the risk of your child not liking it. As for eating in the castle, it was nice to say we've done it, but neither of my girls has talked about it being anything special since and I won't pay extra for that again.

OK Akershus is on the trip plan early in the trip and I may still try for CRT at the end, once she has already seen the castle and would be aware of what it is. This way she meets the princesses guaranteed and I hope that Akershus isn't as hard to get? She may be a bit young to really "Remember" CRT and we will go again in a couple years. I really want to go to BOG and mama needs to get what she wants too

She may not remember but you will never forget make sure you have your camera ,some of the best times I have ever had was when my daughter met the princesses take video .

We did the castle breakfast 18 years ago when our daughters were 5,8,11,14,17. Taking granddaughters (5 and 8 ) for their first Disneyworld trip in June and intended going to the castle but after reading this I think we will book Akershus. We have never been there.
