My DVD case FULL of all our Disney movies and all the kids favorites was taken out of our van. :sad1: We're unsure of when it happened so I can't file a claim.

I really want to replace these movies but don't have a ton of $$ to spend in doing so. We have a trip coming up in 6 weeks and drive 15 hours each way. I want to replace the favorites for sure before we go.

Any suggestions for the best prices? Looking to replace:

Beauty and the Beast
Toy Story 1,2 and 3
Cars 1 and 2
The Little Mermaid
Princess and the Frog
Tangled
The Lion King

The others can wait, but these are the ones my kids enjoy the most.

Also lost all the seasons of Glee..which my DD's just love! Any place to buy that at a good price as well?

TIA for any suggestions you can give.

Do you still have the cases for those DVDs? Maybe with the digital copy disk still in it? If so, you can recover some of them by claiming your digital copy that came with the DVD purchase. If you already claimed your digital copy, then just pull it up from whatever source you downloaded it from. Most of mine are on itunes. I know that I have all 3 Toy Story, Princess and the Frog, Tangled and the Cars movies. Lion King and B&B are older DVDs and I have no digital download rights for them. You won't have a DVD disk to load into your player, but you might be able to play them on an ipad, ipod touch or other video player.

Otherwise, I suggest borrowing the DVDs from your local library for your trip and just replacing your collection slowly as the DVDs are re-released in the future or whenever you find them at a yard sale.

Maybe Craigslist. Do movie stores still sell used DVDs?
Other than the library idea, which is pretty good, do you have Netflix? Maybe you can rent a few. Or even Redbox. I don't think they have many Disney movies but you could rent a few movies and they can be returned to any kiosk so you don't have to keep them the entire time and can get more for the ride back.

Craigslist would probably be great for finding most of your movies for really cheap. I see a lot of people trying to get rid of dvds regularly (they probably really need the money bad).

If you don't mind building your collection back up over time, Amazon sometimes has super cheap Disney movies, even for $5-$7. Christmas time is also a good time to watch places like Best Buy because they often offer great deals like that on older Disney movies.

Doesn't look like Redbox carries much of anything Disney. And the only ad on my local Craigslist with actual Disney movies wants $12-$15 each for used..um no thanks! There are a few newer ones at the library so I'll definitely get those. But most the ones on my must have list aren't there. And I don't have the digital copies for them as I've had some of these for YEARS...long before that was even included!

Thanks for all the suggestions so far! I will definitely be taking advantage of all the black friday/christmas deals on the cheaper dvds. Just hoping I can find ahandful before our trip!

I just figured out how much I'm missing and it's easily $1500 worth...maybe even closer to $2000. Makes me sick! :sad1:

target had a lot of disney movies on sale last week when i was in there. i'm not sure if that is still going on.

did you by any chance register your movies on disneymovierewards.com?

you can order replacements of dvds for $6.95 and blu-rays for $8.95. (go to disc registration under my dmr for instructions)

You may be able to do better elsewhere, but Costco has an instant coupon for a lot of Disney DVD's right now. I believe the ones included are varied by location. $5 off no limit.

I think you can order a replacement copy thru DMR at about 1/2 the cost of buying a new DVD.

this won't work - you have to mail them the broken/no good disk
I just did it with 2 that didn't work (ausitc son - just leave it at that) anyways you have to have the disk for this

I have Toy Story 1 and Toy Story 2 DVD's both Brand new still wrapped. They are doubles we have had sitting around the house. If you pm your address I will mail them to you. :)

Our car was broken into and they stole our Garmin and money. So I know how that feels.

Just wanting to spread a little Disney Magics!
