Is there any *magic* way to get decent savings on 2 day tickets? I know that the price per day drops significantly the more days you buy. Our current plans are to fly into Orlando on a Thursday evening. That gives us Friday and Saturday to be in the parks; then leave for cruise on Sunday. We are staying with friends.

I polled our family for what they'd like to do those two days: one son wants to go to Gospel Brunch at House of Blues, daughter wants Magic Kingdom, I want Epcot (OR Wizarding World which was under construction last I was there). Other son and husband don't care what we do.

Should I just buy through Undercover Tourist? or Orbitz? and resign myself to the fact that our price per day will be high?

Disney does not discount one- and two-day tickets to resellers, so you likely won't find any deals on tickets of that length.

Someone posted recently that the best price for 2 days was at a walmart in Orlando. Maybe someone here remembers that post and can link it for us??

You're not going to escape that huge cost-per-day price tag because Disney front-loads the cost of tickets so that it gets cheaper the longer you stay.

Here are two ways to reduce the cost, although neither is going to save you huge bucks:

  1. Buy Disney GCs at a discount, whether it is through Costo, BJ's or Target. Then use those GCs to purchase your tickets at a ticket window. You'll save anywhere from 3%-9.25%, depending on the type of discount you get on the GCs.
  2. Purchase your 2-day ticket thru Orbitz, but go thru your ebates account to do it. You will pay about $5 more per ticket than you would at the gate but you will get 10% back from ebates afterward.

I remember that thread and I searched for the link. Here it is:

I've read on this board over and over again that there are no discounts for one or two day base tickets and we are better off just buying them from the gate.

I'm in Orlando now and I went to the Walmart listed on the Mousesaver site to check for tickets.

They were cheaper than the gate price and the only legit ticket place I could find that would discount 1 or 2 day tickets. Not a huge discount, but every bit helps.

One day base MK: 98.44 (adult, after tax), 92.02 (child)
One day base Epcot, HS, AK: 93.09/adult, 86.67/child

Two day base adult $190.46/adult, 177.62/child.

I also got Gatorland tickets there and they had the biggest discounts that I could find locally.
For the sake of comparison, the gate prices are:
1 Day Magic Kingdom Ticket $101.18 (adult) $94.79 (child)
1 Day Epcot, Hollywood Studios or Animal Kingdom Ticket $95.85 (adult) $89.46 (child)
2 Day MYW Base $195.96 (adult) $183.18 (child)
