What is the best price you have gotten at Ron Jon's for a one bedroom villa? We have 5 people so we need the one bedroom. We are cruising in October and would like to stay one night before the cruise. We were quoted $200 for one night. Is there a way to get a better rate?

Good luck. I've been trying for a better rate for a while now. The best rate available (as far as I can tell) can be obtained by using AAA. Otherwise, there's a coupon available on www.roomsaver.com that gives you a studio for about $120.00 per nite, but that's strictly on a walk-up basis.

I got my e-mail today. My one bedroom quote for 6/25 was $243!!!
That was 10% off the normal rate of $270.
Radisson, here we come for $109 AAA rate!

Go to Ron Jon's web site and phone regarding the timesharing there.

Last Dec. we stayed one night for $75.00 and a $50.00 dinner coupon plus a free week anywhere in the world through RCI or something similar.

One catch........ you have to agree to go on their 90 minute presentation.

I just got a quote from them today for a studio - one night in september and they said it was $150 for the 4 of us. I know you wanted the one br, but thought you could see this rate and compare. I thought i'd be cheaper since it was hurricane season - oh, well....

Here are the AAA rates we were quoted for our stay in sept.

Yes, we do accept AAA as a discount which would be 10% off. For the One Bedroom the rate with AAA would be $180 a night plus tax, Two Bedroom Standard the rate with AAA would be $216 plus tax and for the Two Bedroom Deluxe with AAA the rate would be $261.

We had 6 people, 2 of which were my parents, so although we could have went for the 1 bdroom, we opted for the 2bdrm standard for 216. It was $237 with tax.

For those that have done the Time Share presentation at Ron Jon's....what do you do with your kids while you are at the presentation? Do they come with you?

I'm interested in the time share aspect as well. Is it really only 90 minutes, or does it last all afternoon? I've heard this about other time share "sales pitches", that they aren't only the 90 minutes that was expected. :hourglass

No, they do not last 90 minutes. You have to get downright rude to get out of there in any reasonable amount of time. If you are not interested in buying the timeshare and are only there for the perks your only chance of getting out of there in a "reasonable" amount time is to do the following:

Be up front with the sales person as soon as you sit down that you are only there for the special room rate offered and have NO interest in purchasing.
They work on commission and their time is money. They may be required to sit with you for the 90 minutes but if you are convincing enough that you would NEVER even consider this purchase they may let you off the hook. You could also sit down and before the sales person even starts talking you could look at your watch, note the time outload and tell them you will be leaving at the 90 minute mark no matter where he/she is in the presentation.

Don't ask any questions...that would be showing interest and one question might cost you an extra hour of high pressure sales tactics.

Before leaving home, stand in front of mirror and practice saying "NO". And keep practicing, getting a meaner and meaner and louder and louder. You will most likely have to use this method if you want to get out of there without spending $15-20,000.

As far as what they do with the kids, they keep them very entertained. They certainly don't want you using the "children are bored" excuse to slip through thier grasp.

Also, be prepared for being treated like total pond scum when the sales person realizes that you will not buy. Do not take it personal, you just cost them $5-7,000 commission. They are not happy. This is why I advise you do not hesitate to be downright rude right from the start if need be. They have no problem doing it to you.

If you have no interest in purchasing and are not prepared to use some of the methods above, I advise you do not attend these presentations. They practice sales tactics in a pressure cooker and they are very good at it and could cost you BIG BUCKS for your $50 off the room rate.

Whoa! I think I'd just rather pay the full amount than listen to a high pressure sales pitch. Besides, if I'm gonna buy into a timeshare, it's gonna be a Disney timeshare :goodvibes

$200 is a good rate. We are staying for three nights in a one-bdrm for $247/night. Get it while you can! :cool1:

Are you sailing on the 10/23 - 4-day Wonder? If so, we are too! We were considering Ron Jon as well, but the prices seem quite high for just one night - still thinking that we might just stay in Orlando the night before and drive to Port first thing in the morning.

Disney is one of the FEW Timeshare presentations that do not use these tactics. Their product sells itself. And it also one of the few timeshares that have increased in value since the first day. VERY expensive though.

Yes, we are sailing on the 10/23 Wonder. We are spending a couple days at Universal Studios and then spending the Saturday before at Kennedy Space Center and spending the night at Ron Jon's, I think. That is the plan, anyways! Do you have kids?

Yes, I have a 9-year old son. I also have 2 daughters, but they are older, 22 and 18 at the time of the cruise. How about you? Have you been in the cruise before? Where are you from?

I have a son that will be 9 when we cruise, and 2 daughters that are ages 7 and 6. We are from Central NY. How about you? This is our first cruise! We are really excited!

We were on the Nov 27th Eastern and stayed in a 2BR at Ron Jon the Friday before our trip. We got a Florida Magagize or Florida Tours Magazine discount code from the Disboards and got a rate of $138. The room was great and we really enjoyed it. I was actually hoping to get that kind of deal this year when we go but it seems like that won't be the case :sad2:

I guess it will be the Radisson for us!

I ordered a subscription to Florida Travel and used code #102 to book our room when we stayed there in December. We had an incredible 1 bedroom suite for only $108 plus tax a night. Well worth the $14 subscription. The code was listed in an ad for the Ron Jon that said "when booking ask for code # 102"
Good luck on obtaining a good rate!
