I have a night at Universal in my plans but will be keeping my room at WDW while I'm there. I have the QSDP and am looking for things to bring with me to the Hard Rock. I'm staying at Pop Century and will be at Epcot the night before so anything from those venues would be great! I plan on breakfast at Three Broomsticks and one TS while at Universal but would like to cover my other meals with Disney take out.

I'm thinking about the BYO salad at Pop if they'll put the dressing on the side. I'm also planning on taking a few Grab-n-Go snacks-hummus/veggies, fruit cup, that sort of thing.

Boulangerie Les Halle's looks good too.

Has anyone gotten Tangierine Cafe to go? I'll have a backpack and Ziplocs.

Any recommendations welcome, thanks!

I think the biggest problem you're going to have is the "portable" part of this equation. Even with ziplocs, I don't see how you're going to take a BYO salad and be able to eat it. Would you just eat it out of the bag? The same would be true for anything at Tangerine Cafe. You would have to have a separate bag for each part of the platter, and again eat it out of the bag. None of the QS places have regular "to go" containers to put your food in for eating later.

So, for me, the easiest thing would be sandwich type food that doesn't require a fork/spoon and can be taken out of a bag and eaten with your hands.

I'm pretty positive that, unless something has changed, the salad at Pop is served in a plastic bowl and that there's a snap on lid available. I'm not a fan of solo dining and bring those salads back to the room a lot. I would like to know if Pop will serve the dressing in a go container.

I've got no problem with the separate baggies issue and will have disposable plates and things with me. I'm really not asking if this is feasible or how to do it. I'm very used to eating in the room and have that down pat. I'm just looking for stuff that travel, something I don't really feel that most sandwiches (at least the tomato/veggie type that I prefer) do well.

Check out Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie in France. I have not been since they expanded, but before that, I had no problem getting sandwiches and goodies boxed to take back to my rooms. Earl of Sandwich in DHS is also good for to go sandwiches.

It might be dorky but whatever, Amazon sells packs of plastic containers with lids. They are usually used for mealprep but would work for your situation. They can either be one large bin or divided. I'd put it into a plastic grocery bag in case it leaks during travel.

Edit: They also sell small condiment ones too. I use them for work since I don't want to bring a whole bottle of salad dressing and prefer it "on the side" instead of getting my food all mushy. They are small so probably maybe 10 would stack together well in a zipper bag.
