Best pool?

For me, the best pool in the world is Stormalong bay at Disney's Yacht and Beach club resort. While the water slide is nice, it's the sand on the bottom that gets me. I love to squish my toes in the sand and not have to worry about hitting a sting ray or a rock.

This year we'll be staying onsite at Universal. Is there a pool that's similar or somehow equally nifty?

Portofino's main feature pool has sand on the shallow end if I recall correctly.

Cabana Bay seems to have a lazy river, which might help you with the Stormalong Bay thoughts.

For me, the best pool is Portofino's Villa pool, because I like a simple rectangular pool that I can bob around in OR swim laps in.

The Beach Pool at Portofino has the zero entry and sand in the shallow end . It also has the lighthouse slide

I also vote for Portofino's main pool. Great theming, fun slide, two hottubs just off to the side, water falls, pool side food. Can't wait until next trip!!

Hard rock has that vibe that truly makes you feel like a star.

we thought the music at hard rock was to loud. (boy, do we sound like old geezers! lol) it was hard to concentrate on our books. granted, we happened to be right by a speaker.
but the slide was great!!!

I loved the lazy river at cabana bay, evenwithout a tub. it's very lush. you hardly see the buildings at all, so it's "serene". I can't wait to try the new Sapphire pool!

the closest would be Cabana bay... they have 2-3 pools depending on what you consider the Lazy river... the lazy river which is large then Stormalong bay is separate near a pool without a slide. On the other side there is a feature pool with a great slide. The pool with the slide was in that great movie Sharknado the first one not the 3 sequels which if like the first you will love those as well.... On a serious side--I do enjoy watching Sharknado... but it is interesting that Cabana bay is a universal value resort with likely the best pools for kids out of all the resorts.
