Part of me isn't sure why I am asking about this as we always do the water park option, but on those days when we do take advantage of the resort pool the slide is a fairly big deal to my kids. Since we have only stayed at moderates I can say that I preferred CSR's slide to POR's. Hoping to try another mod or move up to a deluxe next summer so I'd love to hear your slide reviews. My kids will be 15 and 10 when we go and I have already told my son that his phone and iPod are NOT allowed IN the pool :rotfl2:

We've stayed at CBR, WL, AKL, BC, Poly, and GF and our favorite is the Poly.

My daughter is a lazy river freak, so I have certainly had my eye on SAB. Funny, when we go to the water parks all she wants to do is the lazy river....okay, it's not really funny....it gets boring after the second or 300th time around.....maybe I can ditch the water park option to help defray the cost of the resort.....hmmmmmmmm.........definitely something to think about!!!! The Poly pool looks awesome!!!!

My kids have been on the slides at: CR, Poly, WL, BC/YC, BWI.

Their favorites are Poly and BC/YC.

Just as an FYI: the Poly pool will be redone by next summer, so I don't know I'd make a decision on staying there until you know if the leave the slide the same if that's your primary deciding factor. :)

The lazy river at SAB is a very small loop and very deep. Although my kids also love lazy rivers (that's where we spend 90% of our time at the water parks!), they do opt to spend more time on the slide than in the lazy river at SAB. I love the lazy river at night since it's usually not very crowded and very relaxing and the tubes are plentiful.

Thanks so much for the tip, something to consider. I read on a thread a LONG time ago that the deep part of SAB is marked and for some reason I thought it also said that the deep part didn't encompass the whole thing.....more research may be in order. I already feel I am going to have a hard time deciding on the resort since I have so much time to go back and forth. Dang it Disney!!!! HAHAHA

My slide experience is limited to the Poly and AKL/V

My children hands down prefer AKL to the Poly. AKs slide is longer - plus there's the splash/spray area where they have epic battles between themselves and their daddy. :)

Both pools at AK are larger than the Poly - and that made a difference as well. It was lovely to have more space and not be splashed from all angles.

We love the looks of SAB - and if we were staying there, we'd likely skip the WP&M option on the ticket. But my kids are younger so really don't get a lot out of the water parks yet - only my oldest would.

FWIW - When we were looking to chose a moderate for our upcoming trip and I was researching pools, CSR was the hands down winner for best slide for older kids. CBR and POFQ got high marks for younger kids. POR doesn't ever seem to chosen for best pool area, though it gets really high marks for the overall theme of the resort. :goodvibes

As for just slide at a moderate, I like CSR the best. For overall pool area I like POR. We are staying at CBR next month but the pool area there looks nice. Also BLT and BWV slides are fun. I like the keister koaster theme at BWV.

SAB at BC/YC would get our vote, but don't mistake the slide or Lazy river for a water park version. Both are nice and give the pool area variety and keep it fun. Neither satisfy the needs of true water slide or lazy river fanatics.
All said, SAB gets our vote for best resort pool.

I second most of the above posts.

We used to pool hop at resorts in Disney when we were younger. Our favorite was SAB at BC/YC. My parents would relax in the lazy river while us kids would go crazy on the slide! Definitely gets my vote!

Thank so much everyone! I am glad I have time to consider all the choices out there. I know we'll still do the water park option as it has become somewhat a tradition, but there are many more things worse than planning a Disney trip :goodvibes

According to my kids, they like the pool slides at SAB - BC/YC, Poly & CR. They like the slide at BLT but said sometimes it pinches them. As someone else mentioned, Poly is getting redone.

SAB is their favorite pool at WDW.

Not dumb at all. It is Storm Along Bay and is shared by Beach Club and Yacht Club resorts.
